Don't be surprised if Ricky, not Ronnie, is the running back traded before the Oct trade deadline to a team like New Orleans (not sure how Deuce is doing). A team with a hole at running back but with little other issues. Ricky is easily the easiest to trade due to age and salary and a team missing a borderline probowler at the running back position could overspend at the deadline. RW should have plenty of highlights early in the season as Ronnie comes around and could fetch us another 2nd or 3rd rounder. Seriously.

Ricky Williams is far too risky to trade a 2nd or 3rd rounder for. That's not going to happen. Especially since he's a free agent soon.

That's the funny thing about trade compensation. A team like Philly has extra draft picks and should all world Westbrook go down, they could send one of their early picks our way. Most teams are built to win now and are ill-afforded time to do things right (as it appears Miami is doing....finally). We'll see. I'm just saying.

Yeah right lol! Nobody is going to trade a 2nd or 3rd for a guy that is one failed test away from a possible lifetime ban. And why would we trade him? He's been our best back this preseason and RB is coming off a knee injury. RB has yet to finish a full season and you think the front office would conisder trading a cheap and superbly talented insurance blanket? Won't happen.

IMO that would be a very stupid move. Considering Ricky's history his value won't equal his talent level. I think Miami's most talented position is RB, why weaken the position?

we couldn't get a bag of chips for Ricky. He's more valuable to us in a Dolphins uniform than any low round pick we would get for him.

That may be, but even if the Eagles lost Brian Westbrook, they are not going to give up something as high as a second rounder for Ricky Williams. Perhaps a 5th rounder, but not a second. I don't see how any team would do that, not for Ricky Williams, who is a giant question mark himself.

Every media outlet I've come across is blowing smoke up everyone's butts about RW and how he looks rejuveninated. He himself plans to play for another 3 years. And if he looks as good in early Oct as he does in mid Aug, he'll be made available to the highest bidder. a 3-1, 4-1 team that just lost their stud RB could come a callin and they'll be paying market value for a proven veteran. If you don't think that's a 2nd or 3rd rounder, then I guess we disagree.

And as far as weakening the position. If Ronnie doesn't come around to his old self and Jalen does not progress, then we'll likely not move Ricky. A lot of ifs i know but consider who's in charge...."Trader Bill" is all about fetching picks to build this team for 2010 and Ricky won't be a part of it.

What a ignorant thread. Ricky haters need to get over it or find another team. He is the heart and soul of everything that has been taking place this offseason. Maybe you people should try watching the team sometime or finding another one if you can't get over the piss whinning.

Dude, it isnt blowing smoke. Ricky is a ****ing beast and the best value in the league right now at his salary. No way we trade him. He is BY FAR our best player right now.

He likes it here now anyways, no team is going to trade for a guy and risk that he dosent like the management and coaches and just say **** it and go chill with Lenny Kravitz.

No player is above trade and I'm sure if someone offered up a 2nd round pick Ricky would be gone. But that's not going to happen. So rather then just giving Ricky away, we'll keep him. Part of getting better is winning more then you lose. You need players like Ricky and Pennington to help change the losing mindset, you also need those type of players to help build confidence in a young inexperienced Oline. Ricky Williams represents more then just another RB that can simply be traded away.

Can a NFL player be traded to a Canadian team? Perhaps the only smokescreen is where you would like Ricky to play next year? Eh?

I think the post has merit. Just like was pointed out in the other post where any player is available for the right price. It's not about whether you are a Ricky or Ronnie fan, it's about value to the Fins.

We've watched the Jets sell their future to try and win now. The Redskins went into a panic and gave up a 2nd for Taylor.

If a team is in the hunt and thinks they have a shot at a Superbowl run a 2nd rounder is not out of the question. Look at the MLB deadline this year.
