I was just wondering who you guys think the Dolphins will get with the first pick. This is not who you want, rather who the Dolphins will realistically get. BTW im new to the forum. Thanks.

Have no idea.

It could be one of the Longs, it could be Dorsey, it could be Ryan. Hell, it wouldn't shock me if it were McFadden...

Im thinking you guys take J.Long. You guys released 3 OTs this FA period, and signed 0. And you did sign to LBs and a DE.

at this point, nobody knows, there's only speculation, and i'm gonna guess one of the Longs.

The #1 pick doesn't go to J. Long. Sorry, but that's over-spending. Chris Long is a very likely #1 pick.

You guys lost 3 OTs and a Guard. You signed Justin Smiley and thats it. You guys signed an NT and signed a 3-4 DE, and 2 LBs. I think Jake Long would be the logical choice, since getting Adams didnt happen.

You don't draft someone that may be a RT #1
If you watch Jake Long against speed pass rushers, he does not do so well.
The NFL is full of speed pass rushers.

ive been thinking we are leaning towards J.Long... with our complete dismantling of the Oline (Hadnot, Shelton, Toledo, etc) and only 1 real signing in Smiley... we need bodies there, and not just that, we still need starters... J.Long is a real possibility, anyone who thinks otherwise is fooling themselves...

I think Dorsey is still in the picture too... people wanna exclude him from the number 1 talks because of missing the combine, but after his proday he'll be back in the fold...

Jake Long can play guard, RT, and dont rule out LT just yet. I have a feeling you guys are picking Chris thoe. If you guys pick Chris, he would have to play LB, and at the combine, he looked iffy in the LB drills. And if you draft a LB, why not just get Gholston?

that generic description of him not being able to handle speed rushers has really spread like wildfire on the internet... its kind of ridiculous...

a guy who somehow everyone on here knows CANT be a left tackle is fooling all pro scouts so well who are willing to take him top 5? be serious...

hes gone up against Vernon Gholston twice and everyone wants to talk about that 1 sack... and Vernon has the supposed fastest first step in this draft, and Jake was mostly able to contain him... hes stopped Cliff Avril from Purdue who is a speed edge rusher... Jason Jones from E. Michigan shut down, etc etc...

he might struggle against certain speed rushers was the original knock on him, how that turned into he definitely CAN NOT play LT in the nfl because he cant handle the speed rush, i do not know

from what i understand about Jake Long,in his 4 years at Michigan,he played 2 years at RT and 2 years at LT,so i think he can play both positions.

I think you're right. I def think we pick a Long (prob Chris). Either one would be fine.

I think there will be a couple of good (adequate) tackles let go later during training camps or the June 1 cuts.

Well we're definitely drafting OL in the draft. Whether it's Jake Long in the first round(I hope) or a lesser tackle in the 2nd round I don't know. But Bill Parcells supposedly likes big guys and Jake Long is a big, mean, roadblock of a tackle. If we don't get him I'd prefer Gholston or Ryan.
