So Great When Punter Earns Player Of Week Honors

I was critical of him in some games last year as a rookie, but Haack has definitely improved this season and is punting with better placement. Once again Darren Rizzo has found and developed a decent long term prospect.

As bad as our offense has looked, you cannot discount what a good punter can mean for a team

Chambers what was the scoops you posted in VIP last week about Burke? I've been trying to find a way to find it lol

I didnt post anything last week but I can tell you he is on the hot seat and a big issue is communication with the assistants.

If Haack didn't kick the way he did, we lose that game. A punter's leg can be a weapon in field position and an outcome of a game.

I never take a punter or place kicker for granted. Sanders had great kickoffs with mostly touchbacks. Haack kept pinning the Jests inside their 15-20 yard line.

May I suggest looking up Ray Guy (HOF)

I loved watching him punt. He seemed to find the coffin corner more often than not. Today, punters try to get the ball to die inside the 20 and, more often than I would like, they roll it into the end zone for a touchback. I understand there is more risk for a blocked punt when the punter tries to punt it out of bounds inside the 10 but man they could pin a team deep consistently when they pulled it off.

I think the Dolphins also ended Sam Darnold's memorable rookie season. He is wearing the boot.

We run a “punt it down your throat” style offense, hoping to catch a muffed ball somewhere. Heck, in Q1 we should just punt on first down, 2nd down and 3rd down. Why wait for 4th down when your guy is flipping the field like that?

Congrats to Matt Haack. Great game.
