would this be the starting lineup on defense? I got no clue thats why I am asking?

DL - Ferguson - Starks - Holliday

LB - Taylor - Crowder - Torber - Porter

CB - Will Allen - Bell - Jason Allen - Lehan

Expect the secondary to chance a little bit. It might stay that way but I wouldn't be surprised if it changed by one or more people. Hard to believe Bill leaves a position untouched.

no more like Holliday, Ferguson, Roth/wright (starks is fergs back up)

taylor crowder alexander and porter (not torber hes our SOLB back up)

and the secondary you have down right.

Sorry but that D is ugly sad and pathetic.

this is the best part tho....

LT no one, LG No one, C satele, RG Smiley, RT Carey.

even better....LT nO DEPTH, LG NO DEPTH, C SAME AS LT AND LG and the same for the other 2 on our right.

Better then all this, Martin is still our TE.

how are we goin to fill all these holes via draft?

LT? LG? MLB? DE? DT? CB? S? NO ONE is young on that crew on the D line that u can say hes goin to stick aroudn all have potential or just depth. and for WR we need at least 1 more dude back there.

Starks can play both end AND backup Ferguson. But I still see:

Starks/Wright/Roth - Ferguson - Holliday

JT - Channing - Torbor - Porter

Allen - Allen - Bell - Lehan

SR, those are some pretty strong words. I have to disagree. But then again, its not star-studded, so I could see why you would think that.

SR, wake up from your nightmare, its March 3rd, not September!

Phew.

If the season started today.....1-15 might look good....

Seriously guys....the offseason is officially 4 days old ??? Give it a rest...

so we would be better off with liewinski and hadnot and Shelton on the line? Give me a break!!! Hadnot was all talk. Smiley was the highest rated guard in the draft when he came out (right there with Snee). Liewinski couldn't block anybody. Obviously Smiley was a priority - and he is the best signing for an offensive lineman yet (because he is, ibelieve 26, and reasonable contract). Starks was the second rated DT when he came out behind Vince Wilfork. He was ahead of Igor Olshansky and Issac Sopogaoa. Torbor had some pretty good numbers at the combine. He ran a 4.68. Charlie Anderson ran a 4.57. He was as fast as DJ Williams. Who is considered one of the fastest linebackers in the league. These guys are big too. They aren't 230lb. They are 250 and can run. Please tell me who would have been better????
I love it when some of you, who can't even judge talent if they saw it, think you know more than Parcells and Ireland who watch they tape and actually evaluated these guys coming out. What sense does it make for us to sign 30+ year old free agents to huge contracts??? Samual wouldn't be a good fit for us anyways. He has ball skills, but he was partially a product of the system in new england. He's not, athleticallly, at the top of the list when it comes to corners. Florence would have been a better choice for us even (and he might be too thin). Ferguson was picked up because he is a PArcells guy and will be a leader. We need a NT and don't have one. The other options were too much. So look for us to address that in the next two years. In the meantime our front 7 just got bigger and faster and stronger and that was our problem last year.
Also, quit talking about Jake Long. No way in hell is he the pick. He got owned by Gholston everytime they played (and I mean the WHOLE GAME). It's the money that with determine the pick. 30 million guaranteed means that pick either has to be an elite edge pass rusher or a qb. The pick is either Gholston or Long with an outside chance of Ryan (he would have to be considered a moderate upgrade over Beck to be the pick - and I don't think he will be considered that - these guys like Beck). The only way Ryan gets picked is because of the money that gets paid to the top pick is really only in line for a top 10 NFL qb and we don't want to destroy our salary structure (Ben only got the type of money the top pick is gonna get. and Brady ONLY got 30 million). Money will be the big factor IF Ryan is the pick. Otherwise i think they have a tough choice between Gholston and Long.

If Michael Lehan's starting and Will Allen is the #1, not #2 corner, on the team, by offseason's end, that's not good. But fortunately, the offseason is young and there's still work to be done.

LG and C we have Mormorino as depth at worst if he doesn't start..

On the D-line both Rod Wright and Moses are both young and will contribute and Starks is only 25...

yes we have a lot of holes but your blowing it up bigger then it should be, we'll be fine...
