1. St.Lou - J.Clausen QB
2. Det - N.Suh DT
3. TB - G.McCoy DT
4. Wash - S.Bradford QB
5. KC - R.McClain ILB
6. Sea - R.Okung OT
7. Cleveland - they would have possibly taken QB but none are worthy at this point, defense is a big need led by CB. J.Haden could be selected as easily as E.Berry but Hadden is the only one that could easily be had at
1(12) saving a tonne of money while picking up starters.

The Browns organization is/has been primarily a cheap team trying to save a buck or two here and there (why else is Mangini still there, they don't want to pay 2 head coaches not to coach and then a 3rd to actually coach). They also have shown the willingness to make draft day trades to help the team out in the long run. I would offer 1(12) pick where they still could get J.Haden CB, P.Merling DE, W.Allen CB and G.Wilson SS.

G.Wilson at this point is expendable, W.Allen gives them a veteran CB to school Hadden and start across from him, P.Merling gives them a young starting DE full of promise.

It's alot to give up to move up 5 spots but we do need to entice them to not select E.Berry and go with J.Haden later and get quality starters on top of that. I didn't use any more picks because Cleveland is loaded with picks this year and I thought starting players would be more enticing to them especially for Mangini who's probably going to be on the hot seat this year.

So what would you do?

I let the chips fall where they may, maybe its meant for us to have Earl Thomas . . . he isn't a bad consolation prize to Berry.

Trade Merling for a 2nd and do the trade udid of Bell and Allen and a 7th for their 2nd.

Berry and nothing
or
Earl Thomas, Brandon Graham/Sergio Kindle and Brandon Spikes.

I go with the 2nd scenari.

If Eric Berry isn't gone by pick #3 three then someone in the front office needs to be fired for not trading up to get him. He's the BEST player in the draft.

Berry is going to be a top 5 pick... he can play FS/SS/CB... yes guys he can play CB

I think we need to give up on the notion of Eric Berry, yes, he's likely one of the top 3 players in the draft, but we're not the only team that realizes that, someone in the 11 picks before us will actually want him, and this regime isn't going to give up talented players and draft picks for one player. Eric Berry is a great talent, but so are a lot of guys and we can't have them all.

that would be a good move we could just have berry play in the secondary by himself, if we trade up that high and just have vonsean play in the box with the lbs

Actually, the Broncos are the only team with real need, and even then only because Hill is getting up there in age.

A lot of sites have Seattle taking Berry but their S's are decent and both Oakland and Buffalo have some of the highest ranked safeties in the NFL.

But would Buffalo trade with us if Berry slid????? Probably not.

Should be one of H of a wild ride come draft day.

For our needs from the FS, I think Thomas will do just about as well as Berry. Thomas gets graded down because of his size, but he's about the same size as Ed Reed. He covers as much ground as Berry, has great football instincts, and he's a willing tackler. Now, if both fell to the 12 spot, I'd take Berry. I just think that Thomas has similar attributes in the areas that we need him the most. He makes plays, and he's a ball hawk.

I have been saying this for awhile now, trade Merling. I still thnik he could be had for at least a 3rd .....

I like that idea , we dont give up draft picks and we drop off a lot of money in Wilson+Allen while giving Merling a chance to start on a team. We are deep at DE and could draft a prospect in the draft with one of our later choices.

This a scenerio I would love to see. Thats a secondary I would love to see.
