I mean we are guarenteed a .500 record. If we beat our rivals we will be two games over. Should this season be measured by improvment or having not made the playoffs.
Every team wants to make the playoffs, I think I'll measure this season with content. Though we need to show up every week our team came together down the stretch.
A good first year for our new coach :]

completely new coaching staff, new quarterback, new runningbacks, tough schedule, etc. to have at least double the wins is a success easily

I think so. Saban did an excellent job this season and doubling our win total is indeed a success. It would be nice to finish 9-7 instead of 8-8 though.

Saban has changed the attitude of this football team, right now the only thing that matters to them is winning, and that's great!!!

big success, and i dont have the bitter feelign of just missing out on the playoffs because i wasnt expecting a realistic playoff run, i was expecting a 6-10, 7-9 season, and boy am i happy with the results

:yeahthat:

How can you even be asking the question? i mean look at our team, and the way they have grown, not only that look at yourself, pay attention to the way you feel about games now, i bet youre alot more confident about our chances then you were a year ago, i bet you trust Saban in whatever personnel decissions he makes, a year ago we were all just guessing and hoping this would all work out, on this day a year ago we all werent even sure if the Saban move was a good one, whos questioning Saban now??????? This season is a huge success, not to mention we have a chance at being 5 games better then we were last year!

It's been a very successfull season. Think about what Nick Saban has done. He has taken the stench of Wanny out of the Miami locker room and has layed the foundation for a major turn around for the Miami Dolphins.

F*** YA it was a success! :D

There was massive improvement all over the field. Pretty much every position improved other than CB (and that wasnt players getting worse... just a loss of personel)

I was hoping for 7-9, so we have already exceeded my hopes!

Once everybody started to gel in Miami they were successful. But they lost games no, they threw away games and missed opportunities this year. New England and Buffalo are two that come to mind. If they had won either or both of those games, I would call the season a success. I still hope they beat the Patriots next week. That game matters to me.

Oh its a success alright. We were picked to have a top ten pick gauranteed and we were expected to have 5 wins at the most.

9-7 after that sounds like a dream.

Considering what happened with the quarterback situ... this year, it was way better than I could have wished for! Lets hope for the playoffs next year!
