So was this Jeff Irelands best draft?

Best draft Ireland has had? No doubt in my mind. Grade Him.

Lets all face it, we are reubuilding and are a couple of years away of really making anything out of this team. And since we filled so many holes with this draft we can concentrate next years draft on finding a top flight WR.

While I really wanted one I really have no issues not drafting a WR this draft. He did a great job (cant believe I am gave Ireland any credit) finding a lot of immediate starters/contributors.

I think thats a large enough sample to say that the majority of us loved this draft.

The last two years have been very solid drafts. I give it a B.
Until Tannehill steps in we are all just waiting. Other than that i like the picks and think we have some playmakers now.
Im ready to see this team back in th Super Bowl.

Solid draft. If one of the 2 WR pans out, outstanding draft. I like the Tannehill pick, only question mark Kaddu.

Agreed on Kaddu. However, he does have the physique of JT. Could be a good pass rusher.....

How can the same people who are yelling at members for criticizing this draft, telling them to see the players in action be the same people claiming this is the best draft ever? Little hypocritical isn't it? Personally I am in wait and see mode, little annoyed that year after year we waste several picks and fa signings on the oline and dline because they missed on so many, but none the less wait and see mode. Although I will say that like 08 this draft and its success hinges on the QB.

Of course we have no choice but to "wait and see", but what's wrong with giving credit where credit is due? Yes, Ireland has had a history of making some questionable choices in the past, but he really did a great job filling holes and drafting for value. When 92% agree with that it was at least a good draft, naturally that majority is going to wonder what the other 8% failed to see.

I love just about every pick, so I'm gonna say yes.

But even more than that, if Tannehill pans out and becomes the franchise QB we were looking for, this is the best draft since 1983

Going with a C+. I think its a bad idea to grade a draft based on what players you get. A grade should be based on where you get a payer. While I am very happy with the players we got, we did overdraft on Tannehill, Egnew, Vernon, and Randall. They were all drafted about 1 round early, which is fine if you feel like they are a great fit, but it is still overdrafting and lowers your grade. I'd give a B for the players selected, but a C for value. Overall I think our team improved a lot.

Martin will probably be a good tackle for us but if we dont sign Marshall, Hicks, Nananee and then cut a lineman, we could have picked up Winston and drafted Randle/Hill/Allen or Sanu at that spot. Hicks and Nananee will most likely be fillers.

We need Gates/DT to be productive for last years draft to have an impact. Clay has shown flashes but i think hes a bit small. Pouncey is a no brainer but after him, we still dont know. If Wilson can hold down the S spot, DT can stay healthy and learn the book and Gates comes around then it was a good draft. Alot of ifs at this point. We should know after this year if last years draft was a productive one.
