I think an O Lineman would be more probable

Without a CBA, there wont be much action in free agency except for players being cut.

How could any agent or team do a long term contract without a CBA.

I still think this gets done though.

All I can say is they better get this deal done sometime in the next 48 hours. It's unfair to all of the teams because now they will go on panic mode and cut players to make room in the cap.

This really stinks we had a better possibly of SD not signing brees by friday. An extention is the difference between us getting him and not.

It means a lot of veteran players will be getting cut and signing at a lot lower price than they want if they intend to play this year.
It means team accountants will have to get very creative to sign players their teams needs or wants.
It mean that teams who are already well under the cap will be able to be very aggressive in free agency while teams at or over the cap cannot.
As far as getting Brees, it means we will have to get cut a few players, not necessarily a bad thing, in order to gain cap room to sign him.

All signing bonuses/ incentives will be accelerated into the 2006 salary cap
because 2007 and beyond will be UNCAPPED years.
If the CBA is NOT singed before the deadline, the dolphins will have to release players just to get under the cap.

A lot of one year deals with guaranteed contracts and teams hopeing that the player will resign the next..

Its my understanding that they will freeze all transactions not just free agents. Means that if they don't sign Brees by Friday then he is a free agent and nobody can talk to him till free agent period begins. Meaning the Chargers are just like any other team they can not talk to him till everyone else can. I forgot were I read this but it makes sence cause this way it keeps the playing feild level not favoring any team.

I wrote this in my own thread, didn't see this one but

I think we are in trouble!

Not sure if anyone else saw this, I assume it went up because of the extra 10 mil we had to count because we had to pay extra incentives for how well we played. If we are $21.9 mil over the cap. We will have to release all the guys that have been talked about and still won't have much room. Also if the CBA isn't agreed upon it will make us alot tighter when trying to sign FAs. Read this article in respect to that.

If its harder for us to stretch out deals for guys like JT and Zach we are going to ahve a hard time signing anyone like Brees. I think we are going to be in trouble now, not trying to be a pessimist but our ability to sign FA's or keep our own guys is going to be very tough.

here come some serious cuts. I think madison is gone for sure now. Frerrote, we dont even have a QB now! Sage might be kept for cheap. Jeno James was mentioned. Mcintosh prob gone. hell , we might want to cut guys like Mare now.

Get ready, its gonna get crazy becaue the NFL sounds to me like the 60% was way too high for the NFL to handle. This year may suck, but next year might be better if the cap is lifted. What up with jason Taylor? he is making all kinds of money according to the cap? crazy! Its total pandemonium! Dogs and Cats living in the same house! Mass Hysteria!

we have to cut players by Friday so expect cuts tommorrow, I think this will make FA very hard for everybody because without a cap next year players might want deals where they get alot of money next season. but this could make FA next year extremely hard. if we don't have a cap and than go back to a cap the next season than alot of deals would need to be redone for teams to fit back into the cap. this is why I think we won't have a cap ever again if we play even a season without one

once there is no cap they already said its impossible to get back into a cap, so i mean i like baseball and im a yankees fan but i will be so pissed if the nfl doesnt get this done i mean it will ruin what makes the nfl offseason so much fun
