So what exactly does this season say about Bill Parcells?

This isn't Bill Parcells' mess to fix. It's Ireland and Sparano's mess.

Bill Parcells is pretty much like that paper clip guy on Microsoft Word. He's just giving advice at this point.

He and the CS started believing the hype.

Failed to bring in depth and add playmakers.

Color me unimpressed with the Tuna. He has let two franchise QBs slip thru our hands. We could've drafted Matty Ice and we could've traded for Cutler (should've packaged our picks and Ginn and Ronnie if necessary).

Tuna also made a big mistake in going into this season with Ted Ginn as our #1 WR. Ginn shouldn't even be starting. Not only does he suck as a receiver, but he is a huge liability in the run game b/c he won't block at all.

We've also brought in a bunch of bad and expensive FAs (Wilford, Eric Green, Gibril Wilson).

But ultimately, passing on Matty Ice and not even trying to get into the Cutler sweepstakes are franchise killing mistakes.

I agree 100%. Passing on Matt Ryan for Jake Long is a mistake this franchise will pay for, for a long, long time. Jake Long might end up being a very good and stable OLineman, but OLinemen don't usually make differences in games, and QB's do.

I too am unimpressed with the Guru Tuna, and won't be surprised at all if he walks at the end of the season.

I can't believe you guys are bailing on Bill Parcells. Just remember he was a signature away from going to ATLANTA in the first place. Without him we would still be stuck with John Beck and the Ted Ginn Family, failing forward fast.

Even without the Tuna, I think Cameron and Mueller would have been history. Huizenga would have gone after someone else, maybe Ryan ? Hmmmmmmm :err:

So will the great guru stay and fix this mess or will he cut and run?>:(

Your talking as if the season is over and we are 1-15 again. Many games to be played still.

If baby Chad shows he's a real NFL QB then the season won't be a lose at all.No matter how many games we lose.

Season ain't over yet. In fact, every fan who's worth their grain of salt knows that every team in the NFL faces adversity. How we respond from here on out will tell you all about our team. And I'm not talking about wins and losses necessarily. For instance, what kind of sense of urgency does the team bring to the next game. Are they gonna start pointing fingers at each other. Will the team implode from here on out? etc. etc
Parcells is a lot like Chef Gordon Ramsey from Hell's Kitchen, he may not serve up a Superbowl for you, but damnit he'll give you your self respect back!

It's not over yet we did not need Rayn at that time we had no line we could have had Brady and he would have sucked wit our line. don't bail on they now we have not been blown out in any game all of them were close we just made mistakes and the other team capitalized on them.

That's the situation in a nutshell. It cannot be summed any better than that.

Kudos.

Even slight levels of hubris lead to blind spots: you get high on marginal talent and you always, always pay the price in a league of play makers.

I can't believe the beating I took before season in stating that we have too many possession WRs, for instance. Now we see.

Anytime your supposed gurus are happy we passed on Nicks or high level WR talent "because we have Bess," then that says all we need to know about why we're 0-3 and mired in a mighty midget offense.

The Trifecta has been astoundingly wrong on key personnel moves and non-moves. The money we're putting in the OL is sickening, starting w. Long. And to get the kind of play we're getting in pass blocking? Are you kidding me?

Joke Long and Joke Grove, imo. Pass blocking weakness. All around.

This is a passing league now.

You try to be a control the clock running team, leaning on Wildcat to cover up OL weaknesses... you're gonna be put in multiple situations where you HAVE to pass -- unless you've been perfect in execution across the board that day -- and then, FAIL!

And not "fail forward fast" either.

lol.

Cam Cameron wins the SB well before Sparano and Parcells and Ireland.

Parody. Irony.

How sick is that?

I'll wait til seasons end to pass judgement on the FO, for now i'll focus on our current players and coaches, however Astroback's post was spot on.

Wait a minute, God love Wayne, but he had the sh*t touch with this team. Everything he touched turned to sh*t. It wasn't for lack of trying or effort but for whatever reason he couldn't get the right people in the front of this ship. I still have no doubt that he finally got it right at the end with Parcells and Co..
