Was the defense that good last week or were the Patriots that bad? CJ spiller and Watkins had their way. Special teams gave up a TD. No bueno.

the defense is good but not great. they need help from the offense but that hasnt happened in 20 years. they play good in stretches but when theyre really needed they fold like a tent(see buffalos 3rd quarter drive when we cut the lead to 16-10).

3 points off a blocked punt, 3 points off turning the ball over on downs deep in Miami territory and 7 points off a kickoff return. That leaves 16 points that you might place on the defense.

Miami Offense was below average.

Miami Defense was below average.

Miami Special Teams was unusually horrendous (punt blocked, kickoff returned for 102 yds for TD, and fumble lost on punt return).

The defense got stuck with having to defend the Bills with great field position all day long. They did a great job just holding them to 9 points in the first half. They gave up some big plays in the second half though. I will say that I don't see the love with Wilson on this sight. I think he sucks.

More or less that is correct. I don't see this team even finishing 7-9 (my original prediction), they just look like absolute GARBAGE in every phase of the game

can blame either Tannehill or Obama on that apparently. :D

Did we not watch the same game? Our Defense kept them to 3 FG after going 3 and outs. Like come on. Our defense did well without getting any pressure at all. They got tired and exposed.

They got tired after Miami held the ball for 13 minutes in the 3rd quarter? Really?

the defense is not the best in the league but it is far from the problem right now.

The defense kept the Dolphins in the game early b/c they had to defend only 45-55 yards each possession b/c the offense wasn't doing anything. But then when the offense scored and it was 16-10 the defense gives up a TD drive the next possession which is pure Miami Dolphins football. The defense has always been decent but never great.

You cannot have a conversation about the defense yesterday without making note of the personnel deficiencies yesterday.
Trusnik got exposed big time. Not his fault. He shouldn't be there.

Exactly. We were without 4+ guys on the starting lineup.
You could say "well, how come we did so well against the Pats?" I think the answer to that is easy. The Bills played us correctly, getting the ball out in time, finding the ridiculously fast WR in Watkins, balancing the pass and run, and having generally better-than-good field position almost all game.
These are the same things Miami should have executed against the Bills D: hitting the WRs faster from the pocket, balancing the run game, and getting good field position in special teams play.
You don't have to go as far when you start on the 45 just about every time like the Bills did.

Also, is it just me or are we missing Don Jones and Thigpen on special teams a lot right about now?

Big time. We have the slowest "gunners" in the league.

Don Jones was the number one special teamer on our squad and he ran a 4.3. Thigpen a 4.4.

We replaced them w. guys trying to cover kicks/punts that run 4.5 and 4.6. Do the math on the field. It's ugly.

And we have a KR/PR who should be back there.

And weak-legged kicker.

Some of us called this before it happened, btw. It's like seeing a train wreck in slow mo and people scoff at you and say, "That train's not wrecking! It's just turning!" cRRRRRAAAsshhh.
