So what's this team like?

What's up everybody,

Ricky Williams is my favorite longhorn player ever. There were three teams I did not want him to go to when he was drafted. The Bengals, Eagles, and Saints. I always thought Miami would be a great fit for him, especially the natural grass. I've seen every game Ricky has played in for 7 years. I'm so pumped he's a Dolphin now. Anyway, I followed the Saints very closely for 3 years and I don't know a lot about the Dolphins. I was just wondering if you could give me a quick rundown on this team. I know yall a great D and future star at WR in Chris Chambers. That's about it though. What is the OL like? Quality of the other WRs and TE's? Special teams? Just your basic overall strengths and weaknesses. Thanks. Looking forward to a fun year as a new Dolphin fan.

Miami is the best team to step on a football field! The only team to make the playoffs each of the last 5 years, biggest weakness running back, williams is not yet a Dolphin and he would fill this hole nicely, Best pass defense in the NFL, offense has been less than stellar since the MARINO days, mostly because of the run the ball theory, especially when you have not had a running back in the last 20 years worth mentioning. SP teams are solid, defense solid, offense is the ? especially at the skill positions:
Wr Chambers is talented, Gandsen is tough as nails and good hands, but the offensive linemen have a faster 40 time then he does. Mcduffie was good but always hurt and also slow. Mcknight has potential, but can't catch when it counts. OL needs some help, cause it can't stay healthy, signing the probowler from the bears would sure it up considerly and I ricky would be worth 2 first rounders to the saints when he gets his 1500+ yards.

You forgot to mention.............MOST Monday Night Football wins!! :D

Position rundown:
OL: It sucks, which is why the Fins are trying to sign Olin Kruetz, one of the best centers in the league. We have a good young tackle in Todd Wade.

RB: Besides Ricky, we have just signed Robert Edwards, who hasn't played since his rookie year two years ago when he had a 1,000 yard season. He had a serious leg injury. We also have a very good 3rd down back in Travis Minor, who just had a pretty good rookie season.

WR: Very deep. We have a great explosive young WR in Chambers. We have a very good possession WR in Oronde Gadsden, Dedric Ward and James McKnight are both very fast and all contribute to the team each game. McKnight drops the ball a lot however.

QB: Fiedler, who is inconsistent. I don't like him and I think he sucks but some of the guys here think he is good (I don't know why). We have a good backup in Ray Lucas who comes in sometimes in goal line and third down situation to run the ball since he is a great scrambler.

DL: Excellent. Jason Taylor is a great, fast, athletic player who now has someone on the other side so he won't be double teamed anymore. I expect at least 12 sacks from him this year. He was franchised last season and got a huge contract.

LB: One of the best MLBs in Zach Thomas who tries very hard and is crazy tackler. A good young OLB in Marlon Greenwood struggled in the beginning of his rookie year but became key in the end. We have another good OLB in Derrick Rodgers but he is overpaid.

CB: We have the best pass defense in the league and the best CB in Sam Madison. We also have another good corner in Patrick Surtain. Overall, we have absolutely no problems at this position in any way and the position can't be improved. Madison was a pro bowler this year and same as the year before with Surtain.

S: We don't really have any. Marion, who we might resign, is a great playmaker who gets a lot of interceptions every year.

K: Olindo Mare, can't get better than that.

P: We don't have one.

Hey don't bash Fielder, he has played well when wasn't hurt, and he was the only player on the whole dolphins team that showed up against the ravens in that horrible game where he played as good as qb could with a swiss cheese offensive line and no help from the skill players who consistently dropped Balls.

not only that...

The only team to make the playoffs each of the last 5 years

-in the playoffs 8 of the past 11 years!!!!
(which explains why they never draft high)
-highest winning % since the AFL/NFL merger!!!

OH WE COULD GO ON!!!

Don't forget our greatest accomplishment the undefeated season, only team in NFL history to go undefeated and win the Superbowl, Love those Fins

nice job Ice (except for the part about Jay ;) )

We were mediocre in run D last year; and actually pretty bad with Daryl Gardener in the lineup, but we just a run specialist in Larry Chester. Still have doubts about D and whether people ran cause it was too tough to throw  or did not throw because it was easier to run. If you use the Colts as an example - who have a great passing attack - you would say we have a great pass D, but if you use the Ravens as an example, you would say they ran since we could not stop them.

Thanks for the replies yall. I don't like what I hear about the OL sucking, but hopefully Olin will get signed. I always thought Miami had a very good OL, were there a lot of injuries or something? Who is the fullback? Thanks again!

Yes, there were A LOT of injuries heh.

We should be better in the Line department this year considerably, especially if we get Olin. Rob "is gunna be a stud this year" Konrad is our Fullback.

You know making wise ass comments while your the fan of the most pathetic team in the AFC east isn't the brightest thing to do.

With the FA and trade's we've made...

...we're in the best shape we've been for a long time to repeat the perfect season of 1972. Go FINS!:D

(Assuming all dotted lines are signed upon).
