If Miami signs Chad, one of the quarterbacks is gone. Henne is going nowhere. So it's Beck or McCown. My guess would be McCown because of the fact Miami used a 2nd round pick last year on Beck and McCown has declined as camp has moved on.

It all depends on what the grand plan is for Henne.. If Parcells and Sparano have already determined that Henne is heir to the throne, then it may make sense for them to get rid of Beck now to avoid any future QB controversies down the line. I know it sounds harsh but once these guys make up their minds I don't think there is much you can do... I'm not sure Beck is here to be a backup.. And if he isn't seen as one or the starter, better to get rid of him, for his own good and the franchise.

Well immediately nobody needs to be released. We currently have 78 players on the roster. I think the Dolphins we keep four and try to deal one of their QBs before the season. I could see a team like the Bears being interested in a guy like McCown. If none is traded and McCown stinks it up McCown, but if BEck fails to impress he is gone.

Yes, it is looking like Josh is the odd man out. Beck is a couple bad games from holding a clipboard the rest of his career too unfortunatly.

I feel bad for Beck, this guy cant catch a break. Im sure he is regretting being drafted by the Fins.

Henne is going nowhere and Beck is still too young to give up on. Pennington, although a little older is a clear upgrade over McCown. Josh goes, imo.

he should beat out the competition... Although i like him, if he isnt good enough to beat out his competition, i dont want him on the field

I think Beck and Henne are both released, and then Pennington and Testeverde are signed. Then, we have the best qb tandem in the league.

i don't see why. beck has had his chances. he started last year and was terrible. he played behind a terrible team but didn't help himself in any way. and in his second year he has shown nothing in training camp to be any different. on any team in the nfl that would not be great.

I hope not, but I think Beck gets released (or can he be put on the PS?) only because Penne's shoulder is 1 hit away from a final reconstruction and McCown's the only "experienced" QB left standing (whatever that experience quotient may be) after the OL with 2 rooks and a recovering Smiley get blitzed one too many times. Heaven forbid one of our OL goes down and the replacement leaks like a sieve: it wouldn't be a sight for the squeamish.

you can be put on the practice squad up to ur 3rd year... but anyone can sign him off it at any point.. thats alot to risk for a second round pick
