So who is better Long or Clady?

Interesting. I'll wait until the end of the season to say, but, Clady looks like he's performing better on paper. The stats on the rushing game are not necessarially over his side though, they're a whole team stat.

yeah, IMO talking about the rushing stats is dumb considering it is a team thing...

This is a dumb and non-researched comparaison... using sacks allowed and the YPR average is not enough at all to make a fair judgement on both players.

IMO, it is way too early to tell either way. I threw it out there cause someone took the time to write the article.

Die hard boise state bronco fan here. (Clady's College) Trust me Long is a much better tackle than Clady. He had trouble with speedy end rushers. He will have trouble with Porter. He also is not that strong considering his position. He did like 24 reps of 225 at the combine. I think Brady quinn out benched him. Jake long 37 reps at 225. Who would you bet on in a fight?

I'm happy enough with how Long has done. If they think their guy Clady is better than fine, but to me it doesnt really matter because I'm glad Long has become an impact on our line.

I wonder how it feels as a writer when the comments on your article are 10x more intelligent and informed than your article itself??

Clady is a better fit in their zone block system. He is good, but the system is suited for his abilities. He would not be as good in another one.

When you zone block run plays it's not because your Olineman are dominant it's because your running backs are athletic enough to make the right cut back. Rarely is Clady asked to open up a hole for the running back, he allows the Dlineman to aggressively attack forward and wall him off to open cut back lanes.

I'll take Long 100 out of 100 times, Long will punish you for four quarters not finesse you. That's my kind of ballin'.

The Broncos do more to soften the pass rush that Clady sees. Also, even if they're close in pass protection (which I'm not convinced of yet), Jake Long is definitely the superior run blocker.
