So who makes it now at TE??

IMO, Nalbone over Haynos. I think they're giving Haynos the opportunity to show them something, but my viewing of the two preseason games tells me Haynos.

When Sparano compares the situation with Wilford to that of Eric Green, that points to Nalbone, to me...not Haynos so much. I say that simply because when I watch Nalbone play, he is more the same type of guy at TE that Wilford was trying to be.

Nalbone is an underrated commodity IMO. People think Miami drafted him to be a blocking type, but IMO he has WR-like athleticism. Against the Jaguars I watched him get split out wide and he gets off the line and up the field as quickly as a WR. I think they have something that they will really want to develop, and they won't risk him on waivers IMO...not for a guy that they picked up off waivers only one year ago.

You know, sometimes you see something, it doesn't take much, and you realize what that player has that is a little bit more rare. I saw something in Lex Hilliard probably four months ago in simple short practice highlights. I've been talking about him ever since even while the media forgot he existed. I see something in Nalbone, getting off that line of scrimmage while split out wide...I see him doing some of the things that they had planned for Wilford.

Keep in mind it IS possible that they keep Haynos as well. That's a possibility that should be kept in mind.

I think they might try and trade Martin and if not he will possibly be released. Because Nalbone can do what Martin did last year being put out wide but he can do it better then Martin in my opinion.

Nalbone is a good blocker..As a receiver - he dropped a lot of passes..
Martin is not going anywhere...

I think Nalbone makes it over Haynos but Martin is safe..

Have you been watching him in the preseason?

He's more advanced as a receiver than blocker. He even said so himself, in an interview. He was mostly a pass catcher at Monmouth.

Nalbone is a rookie how could you possibly know what he is or isn't capable of?

I agree with Nalbone. He'll be Martin's replacement after this season. Haynos to the PS perhaps.

Haynos has done nothing to stay with the team...Nalbone hasn't done much either, but he is the FO pick this year...he stays....

On a side note...I am not particularly satisfied with Fasano's blocking so far this year...I thought he did well last year, but no so much this year...

Martin is in the last year of his contract. They might shop him to see what they can get.

I agree, but what do you think we would get for Martin? What would we get for Haynos? If we have to get rid of a TE, I would think it would be one them.

If Nalbone keeps dropping passes nobody is going to want him, including us.

We may very well see Haynos cut,Nalbone cut and signed to the PS, and another TE picked up and put on the roster.

My dream scenario would be that they found a third TE who was a great blocker and excellent LS. We could save a roster spot and stop paying Denney for doing an average job; anybody remember the Jet's game. He almost lost us the division title.

There was a kid from North Dakota who fit the bill to a tee, and he went undrafted. In fact he also had like 500 yards receiving as well.

They should have drafted Jared Cook. It still just makes me sick that they drafted Turner instead of Cook. Cook could have been our third or fourth TE and/or our 5th or sixth WR.

Ireland said they have scouts out there everywhere. We may not know who our third TE will be yet.
