Soliai

New England will probably sign him since Wilfork was injured. Solia owns Mangold as well. He will be an all pro there.

Not sure what to think, but keeping both Big Paul and Starks was always going to be a problem. If we lose Soliai, we still have Starks, Odrick and Francis, and normally I would say that's pretty good. However, Soliai's ability to take on two blockers and clog the point of attack is his strength; if we lose some of that, and let the opponent's O-line get to the next level on Wheeler and Ellerbe (who have demonstrated they can't shed a blocker to save their lives), it would be catastrophic. Fix the LB's though, and I bet we can be fine without Big Paul.

If we lose Soliai AND Starks... let's just say that won't be the best way for the new GM to endear himself to me. And of course there's that bitch Aponte involved as well, which inspires no faith whatsoever.

He's getting paid either way, right? Either another team gives him a nice FA contract, or we do. Either way, he'll be upgrading the Soliai Estate.

Pretty early for him to be making that sort of statement. Maybe he just doesn't want to be in Miami, and that's fine. I want guys who want to be here.

i'd wager it is a negotiating tactic, thought up by his agent. my guess would be he wants to finish his career here, but he wants a fair long term deal.

We have a tough choice to make between Soliai and Starks. There are pros and cons to each one, but we need to make sure we keep at least one. I'd sure like to see some progress with our own free agents....

I like Starks better overall as a player and ESPECIALLY in our 4-3 system... but I think he is less likely to re-sign with us than Soliai... doesn't seem like Starks was happy about getting franchised OR becoming a rotational player last year.

So, if Starks isn't willing to play ball with us then we probably need to keep Soliai... It just has to be a reasonable number, cause he's a 2 down player in our system.

Hey I think Soliai is a good player but it's not like our defense is lighting up the NFL. If he stays great but if he goes it's not we are going to suck if he doesn't.

Letting either Solai or Starks leave would be a huge mistake. It would be a continuation of digging a new hole as you try to fill in the old one.
Both need to be resigned and let them finish their careers here. Time to pay them. By signing Ellerbee and Wheeler to large contracts, we basically used the money we could be paying these proven players.
Instead we are paying for young junk.
We need to keep our good players and sign our competitors good players.
I will be sick if either signs with an AFC eats team.

Our run defense sucked because of ellerbee and Wheeler, not because of Starks and Solai. Draft two rookies to play LB and resign Starks and Solai.
