This is from Street and Smith's Pro Football Magazine 2007, so I don't have a link:

12-0 Miami's record over the past 2 seasons when having 30 or more rush attempts.

Miami has won 6 straight and 16 of last 17 when possessing the ball for more than 34 minutes.

With a true OC as HC (No Mularky here) We should be able to control the ball more with better playcalling. This year we have a better QB than we have had in years. We have a RB that can carry the load and bash the defense and a back that can get to the outside. We have a special weapon with speed this team hasn't seen in years that should give us shorter fields to work with.

Wow, looks like we know what we have to do now! Cam should be looking at these stats aswell!

That is impressive. The problem is when we get behind early we can't run the ball and get 30 attempts. Just proves how dangerous we can be if we had a passing game.

I can only guess 25 or so teams in the NFL have the same kind of stats. Of course you are gonna win the games where you rush the ball 30 times. That is because you are ahead by a large margin and are trying to run out the clock. The same can be said about time we hold the ball. Both are meaningless stats that only reveal who was winning the game.
Even the most pass happy teams in the league run the ball at the end of the game to run out the clock, even if it isnt working. Incomplete passes stop the clock so it is better to run the ball and lose yardage than it is to pass the ball and stop the clock. Those stats are useless.

Lets put it this way, if we run the ball 25 of the 1st 35 plays and average less than 3 YPC there is no way we are gonna win that game just because we run the ball a certain number of times. MEANLESS stat

Actually it is NOT a meaningless stat. A team that can run the ball will not only wear down there opponent but also have less turnovers. With Cam instead of Mularky we WON'T see a game like last year when Ronnie Had like 13 carries for 68 yrds in the first half and ended up with 14 or 15 for 70 yards. Rediculous!!!

You don't think he realizes that? Most every team wins when they rush the ball 30 times a game and/or control the clock for 34 minutes.

If we run with ronnie we now have the QB to make the pass plays more able to beat the Defence.

The stat isn't meaningless. It's that the stat is indicative of what can win a football game for you.

Unfortunately rushing the ball 30 times a game and controlling the clock for 34 minutes is often a lot easier said than done.

I would point out that Cam called his playoff game with LT, just that way zach.. the one they lost to the pats.

The reason we did't win much is because no matter how well you run the ball and play defense, teams need to throw the ball (our biggest weakness) so we had little balance. I think that will change, Cam loves to run the ball and Green is accurate enough to get us the third and longs that have killed us in the past. With our Defense, just 4 more points a game and we're a playoff team.

Yes and those 4 or more points you speak of have to come early in the football game. Big plays in the passing game.

Start quick and grind it out in the fourth quarter with Ronnie.

its a very telling stat about our team,,our defense is at its best when playing with a lead,,,our defense is best when we control the ball and keep them off the field.

I know every team can say that but its especially true with jason, zach and company,,Zach has stressed the importance of this particular stat on many ocassions.

if we don't get off the field in 6 downs or less the tendency has been we will break.

If you run the ball 30 times a game with success then you are going to win games. Now if you give up on the run you will lose your game if they shut your passing game down.

Obvious

Whenever you Possess the ball in both sides of the game more than 35 minutes then you are likely to win the game. Very obvious. We end up possessing the ball less than 30 times a game average.
