Here are a few key points to yesterdays game. What are your thoughts?

  • Paul Soliai is a beast! I'd love to know the snap count #s as i think he played more than Fergie in the 2nd half. He forced a fumble, made a few big run stopping tackles and pressure Sanchez a few times.
  • Randy Starks could be a pro bowler if he were more consistent. The guy was a monster yesterday. I love that our D line takes turns stepping up... one week its Merling, the next its Langford, then Starks.
  • My feelings towards Ted Ginn as a WR have not changed. He still has alot of work to do before he can be considered a solid starter. As a return man, i saw something i haven't seen since the day we drafted him and i watched his Ohio St videos. The kid can FLY. Is it just me or has no one else seen him run that fast in over 3 years? We've been screaming on the boards to put him in on KR and finally they did. About time!
  • Chad Henne needs Dan Marino to teach him about mobility in the pocket. His awareness is downright atrocious. Twice he actually walked into a sack. Also, is he not the least mobile QB on the planet? He's slow as molasses.
  • Vontae is a BEAST. The kid can hit and run with the best of them.
  • Gibril Wilson had his best game BY FAR as a Dolphin
  • Considering all the hype we heard about Sean Smith's mechanics, he has alot of work ahead of him. He rarely turns his head around and gets beat far too often on the deep ball. Granted, he was an easy catch away from a pick 6.
  • Ronnie is dancing in the backfield again.... urghhhh
  • Donald Thomas STRUGGLED today
  • Torbor played a very good game in place of Crowder. I'd go as far as saying he was better than Channing
  • Pasqualoni needs to stop giving up on the blitz in the 2nd half. Twice we've destroyed the Offense in the 1st half and inconceivably given up on our game plan.

Benching Wilson seemed to work... in fact it worked on Ginn too.

i just wanna comment on the ronnie dancing stuff... because ive never understood it...

when a run play is called, there is a hole the play is supposed to go to... now what do you want him to do when the hole is not there?
A - run into a mountain of bodies clogging the hole
B - be patient and wait for another hole to open
C - look for a different hole/cutback lane to run to

because if your answer is anything besides A, thats his "dancing"... and notice we only talk about Ronnie's "dancing" when our oline is struggling run blocking...

Saying someone is better than Channing is not going very far at all.

yeah, but he does it just about every time he gets the ball, look at Ricky when he gets the ball, he gets it and takes off

It was clear Ricky was getting the job done yesterday. :rolleyes2:

Ronnie 11 carries for 27 yards
Ricky 8 carries for 27 yards

Wow, how bout the Jets just shut our run offense down, period. Why does it always have to be about one guy or the other?

one bad running game and were back to argueing about ronnie and rickey? soliai is a beast that dude is getting in the back field alot the more he plays the better he looks where did we get him from? sean smith will be fine in my opinion i could be wrong. how about porter all the dude does is bull rush no moves not sure what going on with him. vonte played very good for his first start gabril has been stepping it up lately.

Soliai was a Cam Cam pick out of Utah, him and Ginn are the only 2 left on the squad i believe. Jets D was nasty yesterday in run stopping and blitzing the hell out of Henne. Our line has got to bone up against power Ds like that. They looked real lost especially that right side.

I disagree completely on henne, he is actually more mobile than he looks and I think his awareness is actually good, the thing is he refuses to throw the ball out, but you can see he knows there is pressure on him and he moves ok in the pocket.

Ricky also had problems finding holes, the blocking has been crap the last 2 games.

I agree, the fins cant get pressure with their front 4, they have to blitz...

Henne and Ronnie both need to learn when to throw the ball out of bounds.

Brandon Fields is still on the team. He's another guy who had a monster game.
