some guy called 790 and said Surtain was traded...

It's Time to Get the Deal Done for Surtain

If anything yesterday’s Kansas City Chiefs pre-draft press conference was entertaining to say the least. All the talk was supposed to be on which players might end up in Kansas City this weekend but virtually everyone wanted to know why the Chiefs still don’t have Patrick Surtain on the roster.

I understand their frustration because I’m questioning it myself. From the outside looking in and that’s where I stand; this deal makes sense. Outside of three NFL drafts in the Carl Peterson era only center Tim Grunhard and last years pick Kris Wilson have made an impact in the second round. I’m stretching it a bit on Wilson because I think his potential is outstanding. He’ll be a difference maker in some games this season for the Chiefs.

Some guy just called Jorge Saldano(790AM) and said he spoke to Chris Chambers at Vodoo Lounge. Well, he said Surtain was traded to KC for a 2nd and a 4th. Don't know how true it is..probably BS, but it always nice to post rumors:) .

so a week ago, KC was offering a 4th for surtain.
now KC is offering a 2nd AND a 4th....

ill believe it when i see it on kffl.com

only way that happened is if Big Al has tried to undercut Petersen.

That being said, I tend to agree with most of what was written. The real question is being that this was SOOO public, will the fans of KC be happy with Peterson if he does not do something to really help the D (trade for Pat)? Fan backlash may be bad if they do not make the trade and subsequently do not go far in the playoffs...

For that reason alone, I think Peterson is starting to feel the pressure and will cave. Maybe not for the 2nd and 4th, but at least a 2nd.

We only have a media source saying it was a 4th (hell some media sources was saying it was a 4th this year and a 3rd next year). Who knows what was really offered. For all we know a 2nd was already agreed on and Saban and Carl are arguing over a later round pick.

If there's one thing I've learned quickly with Saban is that I don't buy crap from the media.
