The Dolphins may very well have a plan and a timeline. And they may not be pressured to do something this week as has been reported. I hope that is the case, because if it is not then this process is not being handled well.

And if we learned ANYTHING from the Nicktator, it was that it's all about the "Process" (relative to the outcome, of course).

Well, relative to finding another coach who won't do a relatively bad job and then relatively take off to a relatively crappy college of late, I hope that we relatively take enough time to find the right coach, and prove the theory of relativity.

The whole process is screwed to begin with...

Wayne can't decide what he wants. Does he want a stong GM to oversee all the football operations or is the GM a guy who works under the coach who is the CEO of the football operation?

If we want a strong GM to oversee everything then why isn't Mueller more directly in charge of the coaching search?

If he wants a coach "CEO" then what the hell is Mueller still doing here? Why force feed a GM down a coach's throat?

Jeez, we have a board of directors (including Don Shula) and an executive board looking for a damn coach while our "GM" sits on his hands.

The chaos is not media driven. It is driven by the fact that the entire braintrust look like damn amatuers right now.

Mike Shula? Gimme a ****ing break! Why are we wasting ANY time talking to him. If his last name was Jones he would not get a second look.

This team is getting far too much input from "executives" who have no football knowledge to speak of and from past greats (Marino, Shula) who, while revered in the history of the franchise, should have ZERO input on which direction this franchise goes in.

Did the Patriots go and talk to Andre Tippet, Steve Grogan and Raymond Berry when they were looking at Belichick? Sound ridiculous does'nt it? That's where we are right now.

I'm as interested in this as the next guy. We don't know what is happening behind the scenes. I agree that the chaos is media-driven to some degree - they like to put out whatever info they get (and some they don't get).

Let's give Wayne the benefit of the doubt here. This is the 1st time he has gone through an exhaustive search like this. The previous hires (Jimmy Johnson, Wanny, Saban) all were pretty much done deals before the "search" began.

Wayne loves the Dolphins and wants to win and is willing to spend what it takes to do so. He is one of the best owners in sports. While we may not always agree with his decisions, whose to say we know better than he and his team. He's earned the benefit of the doubt.

This whole Mike Shula may be being blown way out of proportion. It is most likely a professional courtesy extended because of daddy, just to increase his status throughout the league.

And in the end, what they might have talked about could have in effect been the possibility of Mike Shula coming on as offensive coordinator for Chan Gailey, or resuming his old post as QB's coach.

As MrClean pointed out in VIP, Fiedler was very high on Shula as QBs coach and said that when Shula left, the QBs basically just coached themselves.

Shula was QBs coach under Chan Gailey. It would make sense for them to feel Mike out on returning as his QBs coach once again while Jason Garrett gets elevated to OC...or Shula maybe the other way around.
