Those of you saying the fault of this game lies with the defense either didn't watch the game or have a very low football IQ. The defense put the offense in great position to score the entire game. The offense squandered chance after chance after chance to do anything. The O went three and out numerous times. Dolphins Receivers only had 10 yards prior to the final drive. YEAH 10 yards. The running game was very bad. Foster only averaged around 2 yards per carry. Tannehill was not Terrible but still failed to lead his team to a reasonable amount of yards or points. Of course the Stills and Jordan drops did not help Tannehill. Not saying the D didn't blow the final drive but we should have never been in that position in the first place. Bottom line is that the D played well 90% of the game where as the Offense only played well 10% of the game. The D only allowed 12 points even though the offense put them in tough spots all game. The O failed us badly today

The D played well but when it mattered most they got 0 pass rush and the corners couldnt stop any passes.

As is the Dolphins norm, both sides are at fault for the loss. Offense didn't score enough points but did give them the lead with 4 minutes left. Defense played well all game until the last drive. This happened vs Carolina, Green Bay, and Denver the last few years. Can't finish on either side.

D played well enough to win the game, no question about it.

O struggled a lot, but did give the defense the lead with 4 minutes to play.

Special Teams was lousy.

I still question Gase play calling for most of the game. When he opened the play book and got guys into routes that exploited the soft areas of the zone defense, we had guys open. The opening series where we ran wide receiver screens against the zone was awful. Against teams like Seattle you have to make the game breaking catches or runs. We left one for sure on the table that could be completed at the pee wee level. Sure it is just one play, but those plays are huge in the NFL and come maybe once or twice a game, if that.

We had them dead to rights when it was 4th and 4. One ****ing stop and we cant even do that.

I didn't see many people blaming the D really. Blame to go around from receivers, ST, coaches/playcalling and QB. Could have won or had a damn good chance with any one of Stills drop/FG block/4th down/D on last drive being successful.

I thought playcalling seemed pretty bad for much of the game. We finally threw a screen that went big on the scoring drive after the blitz was killing us all day. Would have liked to see that earlier. Tanne I thought was ok and hampered by some playcalls, but he's supposed to have more control so I would have liked to see not just the coaches but him have an answer for the blitzes over and over, and many QBs would have done a sneak on that failed 4th when we were set and Seattle wasn't.

If the Offense had done their part it would have never come down to that. Even the best defenses usually can't hold and offense without a TD for an entire game.

You talk like Seattle has a weak defense.

Really? Because we can revisit the above stats if you'd like.

Here's what's great:

Tannehill LED THIS TEAM TO A COME-FROM-BEHIND FOURTH QUARTER SCORE in the last four minutes of the fourth quarter. Just like he did against Green Bay. And Detroit. And then the defense gave up a late fourth quarter. Just like they did against Green Bay. And Detroit. It HAPPENS. This is a Suoer-Bowl quality team they played today. In THEIR HOUSE. And they gave Seattle everything they wanted and then some.

But there are those who will say, "Tannehill had the ball at the end! He should have scored! It doesn't matter that he was at his own 18 with less than 30 seconds! A franchise QB can do that!"

There's nobody to really point fingers at here. This was the first game of a new regime. And I was at a Seattle fan friends HOUSE today. And I told him, "You watch. The Dolphins message board will be looking for someone to crucify. And the idiots will go after Tannehill."

"Really?" he said. "Then they're idiots."

The D played well but when it mattered most they got 0 pass rush and the corners couldnt stop any passes.

We can probably thank Mario Williams Gus Frerotte head butt for that lack of rush.

Defense played much better than I thought. Getting that stop on 4th down before the 2 min warning would have been huge for changing the perception of this defense.

I thought our D played well against the run. Much better than expected. Our corners are not good. Wilson couldn't throw as often as he usually does because he was not able to put pressure on his ankle. The times he did, we got burned. He completed most of his passes today. There was 1 play that Maxwell should have gotten a call, I think it was Baldwin that clearly pushed off. That was a big play. The 4th and 4 (I think) towards the end of the game was big. Baldwin was wide open. I know Howard is a rookie who only played 1 preseason game, but he looked lost today. He give way too big of a cushion. A few times, his receiver stopped and went back for the ball while he kept running full speed. Losing Williams was big on that last drive. Watching NE receivers right now, and I feel like we will be dead in the water next week, especially with Gronk back.
