1: several times in his coaching tenure at miami, the canes have been several outcoached, and thus, outplayed by inferior opponents. it's pretty clear that in some of these games (north carolina, georgia tech, virginia, wake forest, etc) that the players were genuinly SURPRISED by what the opposing team showed them. they looked completley unprepared and made average players look like superstars. teams that have bad rushing offenses suddenly rush all over miami's defense. teams that haven't shut down the passing game all year suddenly shut down miami's passing game

2: the largest bowl defeat in SCHOOL HISTORY to LSU in the peach bowl, 40-3. bad enough they are even IN the peach bowl for the 2nd straight year, but to lose to a lower ranked team with their backup quarterback (no offense LSU fans, but it is what it is). and let's face it, flynn looked really good because of miami, not because of what he did. they looked flat out DUMB on several plays

3: it's one thing to lose early in the season to non-conference teams, but so far he has 9 career losses, and 6 of those losses have been to conference opponents. late season losses to virginia tech in '04 and georgia tech in '05 that could've clinched the conference are the biggest losses, but losing to VASTLY inferior opponents in north carolina and clemson is even more unacceptable. to have the talent miami has and to lose those games points to ONE THING: COACHING

FIRE LARRY COKER!

Good post, and not trying to be argumentative, but that phrase right there is just not true.

Matt Flynn was neck and neck with Jamarcus Russell in spring practice to be the starter, and A TON of LSU fans were pi$$ed when Miles chose Russell. And Flynn showed you why tonight.

Coker needs to go, along with that dog Shalala.

Coker and Werner both need to go. I have been saying this for years. The Olsen twins coulda coached that 2001 team to a NC.

LSU beat our *** tonight. There is no way of sugarcoating that. I dont care who was playing QB for LSU. We got creamed by the better team. However I am convinced that had we had LSU's coaching staff we would have won the game.

FIRE LARRY COKER!

At the beginning of the year when I saw a lot of this Fire Larry Coker stuff I have to admit I thought all of you were crazy.

After watching this year and being really amazed at some of the things I've seen, not to mention the all out embarrassment tonight, I have to now agree with you.

I was wrong.
Coker has shown on many occassions that he can be outcoached. Some of the things I saw from the Canes this year really reminded me of watching the Phins under Wanny. Being unprepared, the unwillingness to adjust, the stubborness of sticking to the same vanilla attack even when it is glaringly obvious that it isn't working.

You guys were right.
Coker has to go.

I've been saying it for 3 years now.

Anyone could have won in 2001 with the talent he had. The thing is that I think with just a decent coach we would have won 2 more championships with the talent we had. He's done absolutely nothing to show that he gets his players to play above their talent level (in fact they appear to always play below it).

I'm absolutely heart broken and have been the past few years as I've watched what Coker has done. It's not that I am only satisfied if we win championships. I just want us to play UM football. That means you come out and play big in big games (even if you lose some close ones), you actually DESTROY some lower ranked teams and most importantly you play with a passion and emotion that has always been the trademark of this team.

I have questioned many Coker calls this year and not after the fact like some, I often question it as it's happening and it usually turns out that I was right (not that I know much). But, you know what, it's not actually about his X's and O's coaching (although that is surely suspect), it's that people often claim that the coach can't go out on the field and execute; his players are responsible for ultimately executing. Well I claim that's not true, the coach can build an attitude and demand a certain level of execution. If your team plays sloppy it can often be linked back to the coach and vice versa. Just look at what Saban has done in terms of getting his team to adopt a certain attitude.

I think coker is a good coach, he just bad a break down offensively and defensivley

How's that ACC treating ya Miami! LOL LOL LOL

Things have really been looking up for ya since going there! :sidelol:

LSU probably had the best talent in the SEC. If Saban was still there he could
def have been the X-Factor and got them the extra wins they needed to
contend for the national title and be the team left out this year. Really do ya
think Saban loses to Tenn? Maybe he could have coached them to the win over
Georgia, I believe they had the talent to win both games. Coaching I think made
LSU drop from 1st place in the SEC to the 2nd/3rd place.

Now for the coaching in the ACC.
Well if ya care to hear what I think, I would figure the VT team had the best
talent in the ACC. I am not sure though if they had a bad coaching job this
year. Beamer I think coached well enough. He did get out coached in the ACC
Championship Game, and lost to a very talented Miami team that probably
overachieved in that game.

So as to Coker being a bad coach that caused MU to lose the ACC and the
Peach bowl......

I believe the LSU team was most likely the most talented team in the SEC with the 3rd best coach in his first year with a new team. That caused them to be the 2nd best SEC team. ( I have them ahead of auburn since they beat auburn)

I believe MU had the 2nd best talent in the ACC and the 3rd best coach.

I also believe the SEC is a better conference then the ACC with overall depth
of talent.

So talent wise LSU > MU in my opinion
So coach wise LSO = MU in my opinion
So talent wise SEC > ACC in my opinion

Miami was out matched and lost to a better LSU team.
With better coaching they prob would not have gotten blown out --- YES.
Would they have still lost --- YES, I think so, 6 out of 7 days of the week.

P.S. to bad ya did not play on tues. that is the day I think ya might have had
a chance.

This is more than just last nights game. The past few years Miami has been losing to the likes of North Carolina (in football) and struggling vs teams like Clemson and so on. Miami football used to beat these schools by 40+ consistently. This program is on a downward slide. In the Big East this was a school that was in the BCS year in and year out. It proped up their recruiting and national presence. Now, in the ACC..........they are just another school.

It's gonna get a lot worse for Miami before it gets better.

Ahh well, I really don't like UM as a NCAA Football team.

Fact is they rank near the bottom of my list of peeps to root for.

Fact is Coker hasn't done so well for them so I like him.

Sorta what I meant by that that how ya want to.

Just was trying to be sorta unbiased in my previous post.

So ya all don't hate on my to much they are a fun team to watch though.
Exciting players and usually score alot. Sorta the team ya like to hate.
