You know, earlier in the year when we all were predicting records and I gave a 4-12 opinion and most siad 8-8, I though it strange

Now we heve people saying they'd kill themselves if AJ starts, RW is gonna suck, doom, doom and more doom. I think it just as strange.

There is not one player or coach for that matter that is not learning a new system. JT is learning, ZT is learning, Saban is learning. The waterboy is learning. Everybody is learning at this first preseason game. They've only been practicing for what 2 weeks?

In contrast, the Bears vet's are not completely learning new system. It's the same as last year. The tasks of these two teams are different right now.

The team that opens the season will be alot different than this one. How can you expect anything different as we blend coaches, rookies and vets together into a whole new system?

I was encouraged by alot of things i saw last night and found the biggest worry to be the secondary. But also worried about that before last nights game. Schulters will help but been here what a week? I think we'll impove here too but may still be too big of weakness.

Liking overall what i saw, even when AJ got sacked, Carey followed that play though and knocked that guy away from feeley. If no blitzer was coming up the middle there would have been no sack. I came from that game with higher expectations, not to much higher yet!!!. New prediction 5-11.

Judge the progress each week, The last preseason game will be much different than the first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But...but we lost a preseason game...A PRESEASON GAME!!!!! Don't you see? It's the end of our season! All the players I hate played bad and all the players I like could do no wrong! But we still lost a meaningless preseason game! I'm changing my season prediction from 14-2 to 0-16...just because we lost this game!

I agree completely, we didn't even gameplan this game and it showed, the constant blitzing disrupted what we were trying to do offensively.

If we had to gameplan then what were we trying to do??? and what did it disrupt if we were just going in with nothing. Our gameplan was to solidify the pass game and it didn't come out. But it is preseason but everyone goes in with some sort of a gameplan.

fact is we were treating it like a scrimmage, the Bears were treating it like the superbowl.

Can't wait till the next game. I'm sure Saban has a 5 week plan Watching game 2 closely should tell alot to see what the next phase of this plan is. What do you think he was trying to accomplish the first game? Just to see what you all think.

But the media won't tell you that. They'll say these are the REAL Miami Dolphins. The 4-12 Miami Dolphins. Nevermind we didn't gameplan and that the Bears weren't learning a new system. None of that counts. Know this :D

Your starting to sound like Tom Coughlin when the Jets smacked them around! But I see your point.

Ya but the fans here are the ones believing what you see is what you get last night

I think Saban wasnt really game planning against the Bears...I think he was looking for more of an in game evaluation of his players...

Great thread.

I feel that we did not get to see much of our starting rotation. We did get a chance to see some good things. Jamar Martin looks great at full back. Our receivers look very promising, and we didn’t see very much of Chambers or McMichael. Frerotte, Rosenthal, and Berlin looked good. Without that late pick, I would have to say Berlin stole the show. We have a ridicules amount of talent on defense, once they learn, and become comfortable with the new system they will be a dominant force.:fire: I do not want to make any prediction on the O line until later in preseason.

I’m predicting a 10-6 record.

Can u show me one link anywhere that says the Bears actually schemed for this game? I can't find one. And don;t tell me it was obvious.

I hope they do say that. And, I hope Salisbury keeps running his mouth too. And I hope most teams expect to walk over us, just like the patriots players were expecting last fall.

I know that 4-12 isn't something to brag about, not matter what excuses there are to be made...valid or invalid. To follow that with an entirely new staff, a new offensive system, a new defensive system, and quite a bit of player turnover (especially on the defensive side of the ball) is usually not a reason for high expectations in the short term.

Honestly, I'm expecting be somewhere around 6-10 or so, maybe better...depending on how much a miracle worker Houck is. I'm totally fine with that too. I'm all in favor of building slowly making good decisions financially, so that we can be strong for a long time.

It's time for a new era of dominating play from the Dolphins, and I think the moves that Wayne and Saban have made so far this season give me a lot of reason to think that's coming our way.

My point was........we did not gameplan the Bears defense, we did not gameplan for Lovie Smiths constant blitzing.

Relax people.
We didn't do anything last night for several reasons.
1. we did not have enough time for the offense to practice blitz pick ups in 1 1/2 weeks Simple blitz yes but a 9 man blitz with the corner coming up the middle NO. NOT TO MANY TEAMS IN THE NFL COULD PICK THAT UP IN THE 1st Preseason game.

2. The run game looked weak because the Bears had 8 in or around the box at the snap of the ball. Minter #30 the starting safty was the leading tackler with 4 and 2 TFL's. I saw him make at leat 3 tackles at the line or be hind the line therefore we blocked 7 it is up to the OC to call plays to get the safty from the line of scrimmage. He did but we could not get the safty from the box because of the blitz that we where facing. (See #1 for further details). Lst time I checked you block 7 on a run play and you should get 3 -5 a pop. This is a good thing.

3. Defense ALWAYS out play ofrfense at the begining of the season. Don't matter highschool / college / Pewee / NFL. That is just the way it is. The offense is timing defense id reaction. 1 week and 1/2 of practice...... = no timing.

4. PLAIN AND SIMPLE ----WE NEED 2 CORNERS 1 starter and 1 as a nickle / DIme guy. Howard / Daniales / and eny other guy that played last night willnot cut it. QB's will have carrer days on us if that is not fixed.
