On O, Miller had a VG game, over 100 yards, 4 for 4 receiving, and no pressure on 4 pass blocks. That was about it. On the OL, Albert was good, College was fair, James was bad, Samson was worse, and Dallas was worse yet. KC had 5 sacks, 2 hits, and 11 hurries, and the OL did not run block well at all. The receivers dropped another4 passes, RT was bad, an Clay disappeared.

On D, Jenkins had the best game of anyone with 8 stops, 2 sacks and along with Mitchell, the only 2 who played well vs the run. The DL brought a lot of pressure with 6 sacks, 2 hits, and 12 hurries (including Jenkins). We missed 13 tackles, and did nothing else well.

Horrible overall performance, with few bright spots.

I think I'm going to stop reading your threads now. Talk about being contradictory!

Interesting that you say the OL didn't block well yet you give Miller props. Does he not depend on the OL to create holes for him?

+1

O-line opened up lanes big enough for cars to drive through.

Play calling / decision making really screwed the pooch.

3rd and 1, BOMB IT! YA!

Averaging 5 yards per carry but lets pass some more.

Tannehill holding onto the balls for 4-5 seconds :bobdole: , as a public service announcment. If you have time to go through 3 reads, fake pump twice and you are still holding onto the ball and not running around, you are going to get body slammed.

If anyone watches the game a second time, as I did focused on the OL, you should agree. A lot of Miller's yards came after initial contact, which he is not supposed to be able to do. This is an exception, and not the rule. I welcome anyone to show me where I was wrong.

He's going by PFF.

No one should quote pff anymore.

PFF's grades are not out yet, as it was a late game. Next.

I see what you are trying to do here, and I appreciate it, but there really isn't a lot there for me to hang my hat on. Our team is still dysfunctional as hell. Our team units play like a group of individuals instead of whole team. Until they all get on the same page, it's gonna be the Monday morning blues for Dolphin fans.

P.S. And thank you for not quoting PFF...

that is pretty much in line with what i thought...the center and right side oline awful jenkins and mitchell the two guys on d who showed well...mitchell is on his freaking horse trying to get to things outside the tackles vs the run game...

satele thomas and james just awful...

only gripe i had with lamar millers game being something to add to the list i've had is will he ever make someone miss at the 2nd level when he's downhill...i swear he beelines to contact pretty much but at least it's going north and south i guess...too many tackles one on one in space when he has 2 way goes downhill...

I missed a couple of his carries in re-watching but, here' a breakdown of what I did see on when Miller ran.

1- no gain, no space,

2- 3 yards, no space.

3- 4 yards, no space.

4- 17 yards, BIG opening.

5- loss of 3, no space.

6- 5 yards, on his own.

7- 5 yards, beat an unblocked defender.

8- 20 yards, change of direction with half the yards after contact by 2 defenders.

9- 1 yard, no space.

10- no gain, no space.

11- 7 yards, small opening.

12- 9 yards, change of direction with yards after contact.

13- no gain, no space on 4th and 1.

From what I saw, the OL gave him one big opening and one smaller one for a total of 24 yards. Past that, he was the one responsible for most of his yards, gave him no space at all on 9 of his runs. To me, that is the OL not blocking well at all but Miller having a very good game. Imagine if he would have had overall good run blocking. JMO

Yeah Samson and the right side got beat up badly on the run and pass, hoping that Pouncey can fix that. Mitchell did not bring pressure this week but, was all over the place vs the run. Jenkins has been special to watch. He was good vs the pass last year but had no idea he would be this good vs the run, and we brought him to rush the QB, which he did well.

Don't know if Miller will ever be a legit #1 RB but, did like what I saw in running and receiving yesterday.

That's kind of how I saw it, too. I did not think the run blocking was anything special at all, but rather that Lamar Miller just finally flashed some heart and ability.

The Miami OL was great in run blocking yesterday. What game did you watch?

Not the same as you. Maybe you can tell me what you saw, other than a couple of highlights.

Naw, P8u, I don't think he's off-base here. The OL was not good yesterday and to my great surprise, Lamar Miller actually made some guys miss and played with passion. I have ripped him in the past, but I give him credit for a solid game yesterday.

This team badly needs Pouncey in at C and Turner in at RG. I know Billy Turner is raw. Let him take his lumps. I'd rather take my lumps with a guy who occasionally blocks people out of the friggin' picture than with Dallas Thomas.

Satele was great week one and... not great the last two weeks.
