What exactly does Mr. Abilene Christian do better than Ted Ginn?

According to everybody here, hes better than Ted Ginn Jr because hes a football player... Even though he sucks on the returns and has done absolutely nothing since being here. Hes worlds better than Ted Ginn and so is Nolan Carrol..

He isn't a *****. Or worth a 1st rounder.

That doesn't answer the question really. I'm just thinking we could have probably kept Ginn to return kicks, and stretch the field. Whats the point of shipping Ginn away for a 5th and then using a 4th on Gates...

Its been two weeks. We gave Ginn YEARS to prove himself. He had one good game.

As a rookie, not a whole lot, but based on his production, Ted Ginn should've been selected about where Gates was.

Gates has been bad..Henne was always going to overthrow him tho..We need a real qb to get him the ball..

Gates can be as good as Ginn...

Trading Ginn was dumb tho. 49ers are not missing that 5th rounder..

Nolan Carrol who we got with that 5th is exactly lighting the world on fire with his skill.

Gates doesn't look like he can be a return man and he has one catch on the year. Sometimes it takes a long time for guys like that to catch on (late round/small school) but he hasn't shown anything yet. It looks like we were better off holding onto Ginn as a return man/ deep threat on the other side of Marshall... This regime blows.

He isn't a P U S S Y! I don't care if he can play or not...you don't need P U S S I E S on your team! Ginn qualified in spades...

As for gates, he has speed...but I have seen no indication that he can catch...he has been interfered with alot...so the jury is still out...but I don't think this guy is the next DeShaun Jackson...

Ted Ginn wasnt and never shouldve been a #1 Receiver or drafted that high.. that said, if he was lining up as a #2 opposite Brandon Marshall.. this teams receiving corps wouldve been lethal.. Ginns speed made him a threat to stretch the field and to prevent double teams on Marshall.. opening oppurtunities for both to be succesfull..

i always thought that it was a bit pre-mature to trade him when they did because they never got a chance to use him as a compliment to Marshall. i think they both couldve excelled in that type of situation..

Yep.

The reason why he was traded, he wasn't a Parcells guy and he wasn't necessary for the Parcells ground n' pound style of play.

If Miami had remained a passing team, the direction Cameron was headed, Ginn would still be around.

I'm not even sure why this is a discussion. 99.9% of this forum wanted him gone. Don't complain about it now.

Ginn was run out of town by an angry finheaven mob with torches and pitchforks.
