Let me first say, I generally have to watch Miami games on some scrambled, chunky, 8 bit looking fiasco on the intertoobz, so I can never fully see what the hell is goin' on out there!

I watched the highlights from the No Fun Allowed League website and what I saw brought a smile to my face.

THill didn't have that patented long wind up of his. He had the ball being delivered from the ear area instead of from 2 yards behind him. He was throwing DARTS!

This is a HUGE improvement, people!

It means coaching, or at least Marino has a nice influence.

Tell me, was I seeing things???

i never really noticed tannehill having a big wind up in his throwing motion

Watching the game live I can tell you he still doesn't consistently trust what he sees, his ability or both. There are those windows that are there but he thinks other wise...for example. There was one play..kinda like a roll out where he hits #80 the TE coming across with him. But, guess what? A few yards down the field a LB is trying to stay with a striking Mike Wallace going vertical. Are you kidd'in me?

The Sims play was a lot more "wide open" whereas the Wallace play had a smaller window and required more confidence in the throw.

But thats the kinda matchup a top tier QB dreams about. My fastest WR on a LB with no other defender in sight to minimize the damage??? Shhoooot!

While he doesn't have Marino/Rodgers type quick release.....he does not have a windup release. His mechanics/footwork have been clearly reworked by a real QB coach and we are seeing the benefits this season.

its well documented RT has been getting the ball out with quicker motion and the announcers today talked about it and said as much.

The problem I still see and it happeened again today is his pocket awareness of the blitzing guy off the edge. He knows its coming yet he acts as if his OL will just take care of it. The greats dont rely on that. They rely on quick hits or quickly stepping up into pocket knowing its coming. RT has gotten better.

He also takes too long getting rid of it when it needs to just be gotten rid of. He takes some sacks when he doesnt need to. Just get rid of it and fight another play. He took us out of red zone today but luckily we got the penalty.

he also does this fred astair step into the sideline screen throw when its not neccesary. Just get the ball, turn, step, throw. Brady is best at this than anyone.
