Has something changed since sunday regarding Parcells?

At work I overheard on a country station the dj ask is Parcells staying or going? he mentioned the comments by wayne on sunday but still said Parcells may leave.

Have I missed some new development in the last day or so?
or this dj just having fun?

By the way when is the sale going to take place I would just rather know then have this continued ramped speculation.

Speculation is still there regarding any Parcells move. He CAN go within 30 days of the selling of controlling interest of the team. Everyone that is talking publicly is saying he's saying. Reporters have said everything from BP is going to Detroit, Oakland, NYJ, etc. All depends on who you believe. Wayne said BP said he wasn't leaveing.

A lot of speculation is still going on. Parcells told Wayne on Friday he is staying, and he told Joey Porter on Sunday that he is staying.

Some people saw Carl Peterson on the sidelines with Ross on Sunday and are just assuming that Peterson must be about to be hired to take Parcells job. However, other reports say that if Peterson is hired, it would likey be as a replacement for Joe Bailey, who has nothing to do with the football team itself.

Until the sale of the team is complete(likely to happen next week), and the 30 days expire without Parcells leaving, nothing is going to be settled. Parcells himself could hold a press conference and announce he is staying, still the speculation that he is leaving will continue.

This whole thing won't clear itself up for awhile.

Did you read that article yesterday by the 'source' for these new rumours?

It was pretty funny. First he creates the speculation in the article by writing about Peterson being with Ross at the game, then comments on the very same speculation in the very same article as if it came from another, 'CREDIBLE' source.

He also speculates that peterson referred to the Dolphins as 'our' team based on someone overhearing something to that effect without mentioning any names. :rolleyes2:

OK so nothing new, thanks I was aware of all these things thought I had missed something due to the radio DJ, well then I still feel like its 50-50 I understand Parcells told Wayne & Porter he is staying, however I can see him telling the media at a presser he just didnt fit with the new owner or something along those lines.

I am so happy that Parcells has worked his majic here in Miami but he is like dancing with the devil he will eventually take your soul or in our cases break our hearts and leave, and considering this franchises latest history he'll leave after 1 year.

But we'll see I hope he stays the life of his contract, that would be great.

Armando S was on Sirius this morning talking like it was still totally up in the air. I thought all of this was cleared up over the weekend and was wondering what changed myself.

Well if your parcells and you have a way out of your contract and another team offers you 40 million to come over, would you take the job?

didnt we just go throw this with Saban ? man i wish we could get some stability in the front office.

I wish Wayne would just leave already. I like the guy and think he always means well, but every time he tries to do something good for the Miami Dolphins it winds up blowing up in our faces. It's crazy, now even him selling the team will have reprocutions with Parcells leaving. It seems he can't do anything right. He can't even LEAVE right!!!!!

I can totally see the boys in Davie looking out their window saying:

"Oh look.. here comes Armando.. what juicy bits shall we give him today. He's such an eagle beagle. Hey Bill.. shall we tell him you're leaving. You know as soon as we tell him to keep it under his hat.. he'll be telling the whole world.. Great idea Bill! We'll tell him a bunch of stuff that doesn't mean anything.. but insinuate it means everything!!! Bill you're so smart!.. Happy Golfing!"

Armando.. you fink putz!

Let me ask you this though. If YOU had a contract put in place to protect your position in the organization in the case of an ownership change, and the ownership changed hands ANYWAYS, and the buyout meant that you would be paid $12 million for exercising it. EVEN IF YOU INTENDED TO STAY AND TEST THE WATERS UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP.....

why on earth would you NOT exercise that option AND renegotiate a new contract if ownership wanted you to stay????

I say this is just getting interesting! I doubt it goes down without a hitch

I understand your point. Money speaks and the idea that he could get all $12 million, go to another team and make another $4-5 million per year sounds like the route anybody would go.

I do think in the end, Parcells will get a re-done contract. Probably a little more then what he is making per year now.

I don't think he will leave because there is really nothing out there right now that offers him the same power he has in Miami. Some people mention the Lions, but they already have named their new GM. The Browns? No way, they are expected to hire Mangini as coach by the end of the week.

He has it made in Miami, and there is no job out there worth leaving to go to. He hasn't finished the job here yet, and despite that $12 million clause, I doubt he leaves.
