I'm a die hard fan who absolutely loves NFL playoffs especially with my Dolphins playing in them.. I found an interesting and realistic scenario where the Fins could make the playoffs with one more loss! (I fear a Fins loss in their final four so its good to keep hope alive! and this thread is not for those who say if we're 9-7 we shouldn't be in the playoffs, I'll take it anyway I can. Arizona made it all the way to the Superbowl with 9 wins!)
So I know many people are saying we have to win out bla bla bla BUT heres the scenario (realistic too!)
Ok so first off...
-Miami MUST beat Jacksonville
-Miami MUST beat Pittsburgh
-Miami could lose to EITHER Houston or Tennessee.
-Jets lose one of their final four to finish 9-7
-Jags lose to us, the Colts, and @ NE to finish 8-8
Ok so far so good.. easy enough right? okay good...Now the key IMO..
Baltimore's final four games are Detroit, Chicago, @ Pitt, and @ Oakland
(Remember, I'm being realistic now. I know, I know, any given sunday but...)
Baltimore should whoop on Detroit, and stomp on the Bears picking Cutler off 5 times...
-In their final two games Baltimore MUST lose to one of these AFC teams, either one.. They could lose @ Pitt where historically they have not played well OR they could take the exhausting west coast trip to Oakland and lose in the Black Hole which might have found their future QB!
In summary, miami can go 9-7 and make the playoffs if a loss comes from the titans or texans and baltimore loses only ONE with a loss coming from pitt or oakland. two road games in a row to finish the season.
Of course Baltimore could win out which would kill our playoff chances, even if we won out
OR they could fold and lose to maybe the Bears too.
