When Saban/Mularkey called the play to tie the game he didn't put it in Dante's hands. What does that make you think of their confidence in Dante?

re:

I don't think it was a horrible call. Just under executed. And they didn't give the ball to Daunte because he would have clutched that thing and taken a sack. At least RB got the ball in the air.

Nothing, a play call is just that, had it have been successful there wouldn't be this conversation.

I think it says more about the lack of confidence in the OL.

I would have preferred a bootleg by CPep but they used that play last week so the Texans may have gameplanned against it.

IMO there is too much second guessing to make up for a lack in one area or other.

The good QBs know when to get rid of the ball and right now Dante isn't doing that. I want to see Dante succeed but it seems like he has to learn the game all over again. The reason i thought we picked up Dante was because his style fit our system. Now that he has to learn how to play the game with a new style why didn't we see this coming? When Randall Cunningham became a pocket passer was he as good as he was scrambling? It's the same situation with Dante. It was more of the talent around Cunningham that made him play well.

Dumb call, what happened to smash mouth football?

It became extinct when MM was hired as an offensive coordinator. That smash mouth football was more of Cowher's influence than MM.
