I'm not throwing in the towel yet. I do feel like I did last year when we just lost to Cleveland. A couple observations to justify the title...

1. C-Pep is NOT 100% recovered and it is affecting his comfort zone and ability to get "into a groove".

2. The O-line is HORRIBLE, too many new faces, C-Pep indecisiveness is making this unit look really bad.

3. Secondary may get there but the still have a LLOOONNNGGG way to go.

Mularkey is ....well MULARKEY! His play-calling is leaving a lot to be desired.

This team (at this point at least) looks to be 8-8 at best. Maybe we should have the Super Bowl hype until we at least get back to the playoffs. :shakeno:

my take:

everyone thaught culpepper would be GREAT and combine that with good wrs and a solid running D. because of that many had high hopes for the fins.

Culpepper cannot move or run like he used to. he looked rusty and his throwing motion is all screwed up. those can be fixed in time.

that said, if culpepper starts to play better the fins will get significantly better.

PHINZ RULE!!!!

Yup, every year. Same thing. Doesnt matter, who is coaching or who is playing on this damn team. Ive had enough, this is painful.

I still stand by my hopes for 10-6 until we lose our 7th game.

You know what....then your expectations were too high. I KNEW this was going to happen because of all the hype with this team. Winning teams aren't gift wrapped and placed under the christmas tree, they have to be built from the ground up....and while its nice to hear all the hype, I knew this wasn't going to be a Super Bowl year...just not yet. I think this team can be in a few years, but there are atill pieces missing. BTW, I'm not one of the overly negative people on this board, just trying to be realistically. And realism was completely thrown out the door following last years 6 game win streak and the arrival of Daunte.

Well you have 3 coaches (counting Nick) with head coaching experience, One of the highest ranking QB's the last 3 years(coming off injury). A team coming offa 6 game winning sreak, R Brown in better shape...ready for a break out year. Z. Thomas, J Taylor, heck...even a good pre-season showing from a very (historicaly speaking Joey Harrington. Not to mention another year under the Saban "plan". What was there ont to be optimistic about? Super Bowl?...yeah that's a little over the top. The fact remains, the Dolphins got DESTROYED by a very "young" inexperience, (newly coached) Buffalo Bill team :fire: . Expectations too high...I don't think so! What were you thinking? 4-12 and a shot at the Quinn sweepsteaks????

I know I'll get blasted for this but Marino wasn't exactly a sprinter you know...

totally agree, we were all very wrong about this team, we were highly over-rated. We'll be lucky if we match last year's 9-7 record IMHO. Out OL is one of the worst in the league.

Something to think about, that's for sure.

And on offense we have been built from the stairs down to the ground. We have been adding skill players for as long as I can remember but never rebuilt the offensive line since Wanny waived it following the 2003 season. Until those horses up front can block, we will not score much.

I hated all the hype we were getting in the preseason. Tough to live up too. I'd rather be an "under the radar" team.

With Culpepper's knee not 100% yet he has to have confidence that the O-line WILL protect him. Much the way Marino's did. He has no confidence because he has NO REASON TO. This could be a very long season Hudson Houck has on a lot of work to do.
