I'm really surprised they haven't locked up Soliai yet, not only does locking him up make his cap hit this year less . . . the guy is entering his prime and has shown he wants it by coming to camp in shape. I don't mind them locking up Langford, plus Wake has 2 more years so it isn't a direct priority to resign him now . . . but yea they made it seem they wanted cap space to bring in another guy to help the team.

What's Soliai's motivation to do this if they're offering less then what he feels he'll get as a free agent other then some additional financial security against injury?

Exactly Solia should be priority one to free up more room. I am all for extending Langford but it could have waited.

Really one of the best young players on our team who has been the most consistent player on the team the last three years and you have a problem locking him up long term? This langford news is the best news of the offseason no way can we let him hit the open market
