Heard Armando on 790 tonight replaying his question to Tony today:

Armando: (paraphrased) Considering the final game, will there be a preseason QB competition?

Coach Tony, No, No, No, No, No, No!!!!!!! He's MY QB.

Went on to say that Tony lavishes praise on CP, his leadership, preparation, going the extra mile and like having another coach on the field.

Sorry, but there's one less debate to wage offseason on FH.

Things could still change in TC but all in all, this will most likely be the better move due to the tough schedule next season.

Let Henne learn from Pennington. If anything Pennington deserves to be the starter.

For a change QB is not the issue for us. The difference with CP is that he really likes mentoring the young QBs, unlike some up North.

I'd still like to see an open competition just in case Henne takes a huge step forward this offseason.

I am really glad that Tony came out and nipped this thing in the bud before it even got started. Chad deserves to be the starter after this season. Yes he had a bad outing against the Ravens but he is still our guy. Henne is the future not the present. Imagine Aaron Rodgers and how long he sat at Green Bay....Kinda the same thing.

I think Chad should start as well. He's earned it. Man I wish the pocket would have held up better for him. Need to work on the OL in the offseason.

This is what we all need to remember - for the first offseason in nearly a decade, the Dolphins will not be searching for a starting QB.

Let's face it, Fiedler started far too long, but most offseasons while he was the starter, there were thoughts of potential upgrades at the position.

The constant merry-go-round at the position is OVER. Pennington was fantastic this season. With improvement on the offensive line and the possible addition of an upgrade at WR, Pennington will be even better next season. Remember, he will have a full offseason of mini-camps, training camp, etc. Bess will improve, maybe Ginn will take another step forward, Camarillo will hopefully be healthy. If these guys can be the 2nd through 4th WRs on the roster, this offense with Pennington at the helm will be very good.

And......when the time is right, Henne will take the reins. Maybe 2010, maybe 2011. Either way, this team is set and comfortable at QB. No more Joey Harringtons, no more Trent Greens, no more injured Culpeppers, no more Gus Frerottes, no more AJ Feeleys..........

Thank God! Just from the point of not wanting to see a lot of posts arguing about who should start at qb.

What is Sparano going to say? He is not going to rip the #1 reason why the Fins got to the playoffs and the comeback player of the year. A lot can happen in 8 months.

So im assuming this is the reason he didnt win coach of the year:up:

Im glad to hear this for a number a reasons. Another season on the bench is healthy for henne and the offense does not need the added distraction of a QB controversy in the off season.

it only adds a distraction to the fans, the players just go out and play, you're reading too much into this.
