• The challenge for big safeties is range and USC's Taylor Mays has demonstrated the ability to cover a lot of ground this week. Thinks Mays might be able to play a sub / nickel linebacker in some schemes but didn't sound confident.

• Wants to get Alabama NT Terrence Cody to the point where he can be a three-down player. Would only be a two-down player in Miami's defense right now. Also said that Cody is a two-gapper and takes up "two full gaps".

• Tight end is the most difficult position to play in the NFL other than quarterback.

• Dolphins have not made a decision on whether or not to bring back Joey Porter.

• Feels Ole Miss' John Jerry has handled the transition from tackle to guard well.

• Has been impressed with Florida State S Myron Rolle. Thinks Rolle is in great shape and has displayed nice range.

• Florida QB Tim Tebow has gotten better every day and now has a good handle of the offense. Also said that the Tebow spectacle down here is "something" but that it's good to see and neat.

• Alabama's Javier Arenas is a good returner who catches and judges the ball well. Arenas loves to compete.

• Thinks the NFL is more receptive to smaller players like Dexter McCluster these days because of their versatility and ability to contribute on special teams.
