Ogunleye had 3 sacks Sunday. Some were saying he would be a bust in Chicago. Quite the opposite...he has helped to lift that defense to being amongst the best in the league.

We should have kept him. He is younger than JT and obviously is talented.

yeah he was asking for a mint.

but hinsight is 20-20 and we ended up gving a lot of that money to Jeno James and Reggie Howard. Thanx Rick!

There was no way we could have kept him on our payroll back then. I don't think anyone said he sucked, most just said he wanted more money than he was worth and his success was a direct result of JT. We got marty Booker, who at the time was coming off a ProBowl year and is probably still a good player if you know what I mean.

Well that doesn't seem the case now does it? So far he has 7 sacks.

he is a terrible fit for sabans defense anyway. you should be thankful hes not here. he would be useless and command a huge salary

Ogunleye held out for money we could not give him. Rick and Dave pulled the trigger. It is unfortunate that we lost him, but that's the way it is. The upside, of course, is that Marty Booker has been our best receiver this year....

I think Marty Booker is a good WR, and we'll see amazing plays from him once we get the offensive leader going. I miss Adewale too, but I think everything is gonna work out.. Offense is the immidate need, a younger D is something we have to hope for come 07's offseason... But speaking of younger D, Channing Crowder anyone? There's Dolphoin D future

Also, I think that we'll see a tremendous leap in production from Matt Roth from this season to the next. I believe he will be a super gym rat to build strength and size needed at his position. The talent is already there, it just hasn't been made manifest as of yet. I like Vickerson too. Poole should be back and we'll just build from there.

Well, see, here is Jake Delhomme's train of thought before and after the snap.

"Alright, Steve Smith is on my right..."

HIKE!

"Steve Smith, where is he...hmm, there he is...get open, c'mon Steve, get open...damn, not open, maybe he'll get open-"

SACK.

And notice the game the whole line had, and especially Alex Brown on the other side (the other DE). In other words, Ogunleye finally got to have JT, Bowens, and Chester back again, which is what he needs to play like that.

And Ogunleye wouldn't fit in Saban's system, so we'd be on the hook with him for BIG money for a long time with no place to put him.

Wake up, man. He's not here anymore and is useless to us if he has 3 or 300 sacks. He wanted the money we couldn't give and in change we got a really good WR.
