Wow that was painful, and I thought that was supposed to be a strength of the team! Welkers fumble, the TD return, several long punt and kick returns, a missed Mare field goal. Holy crap that was horrible-it made our run blocking look great by comparison.

If we could clean up some problems and cover runs better we would have much better field position. Our defense played steller tonight in pretty much all aspects-pass rushing, run defense, pressure, pass defense. If the special teams doesnt blow stuff like this to often we will be able to get some really nice field position in future games.

It was horrible however I think most of the ppl on Specail teams tonight woon't be there when the season starts

Special teams single-handedly lost this game. They spotted the Panthers 13 of their 19 points. The Panthers offense did NOTHING against our D, but their special teams shredded ours. That needs to be addressed. The red zone offense could also stand some improvement.

special teams gave the game to Carolina...our front 7 dominated-again-but the ST couldn't even cover a kick-off correctly. this HAS to be adressed ASAP.

I am not a Fins fan..But from watching this game...this is exactly what I saw.

Daunte looked very good..Poised in pressure, good decisions. Chambers was fantastic. This guy is the most underrated WR in the NFL. MIA Oline sad....

Ronnie Brown is fighting for yards. He is a monster, and when he sees the holes he takes advantage.

Well the o-line was Jeckyll and Hyde. Pass protection was solid. Culpepper had all day, and if he did a fake handoff he had as much time as he wanted. However, our run blocking was abysmal. That really needs to be worked on. I think the problem may be that we've spent so much time worrying about protecting Culpepper early in the season that we've neglected the blocking schemes for running plays.

Nice to see some respect from a rival. (Or at least common sense  )

The O-Line was terrible but Carolina might have THE best D-line in football, and I dont think we have to worry about teams returning kicks for TD's every game. So I think we will be fine

Did you notice when Dante ran the QB sneak, after he was on the ground one of our linemen (couldn't tell who ) was almost in push up position on top of his legs so nobody could get an extra cheap shot in!!!!!!!!!!
On a lighter note, I would hate to be a ST player at practice today. Those boys are going to catch SABEN HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Side note--------Jenkins is going to be in the backfield of just about whoever they play!!

Before everyone's week is ruined, I hope you realize that DeAngelo's KR for a TD was not against our special teams first unit. Saban was resting some players while giving reps to the backups. That's not the unit that will see the field during the regular season. We're not talking about Jack Del Rio here. Saban wants to see everyone during the preseason regardless of the score.
