I'm not really sure why I'm posting right now but this meaningless preseason game will forever be special to me. My grandfather was a huge dolphins fan and the reason I love this team today. He's been in hospice hanging on to life. Tonight I went to hospice after work and got his TV setup and we watched the game together.

Not even 15 mins after the game was over and I had left, I got a call from hospice that he had passed. My dad was asleep and I'm next of kin so I got that horrible call. A while back there was a thread going on about special fins moments, and this a win will forever be mine.

Sorry for your loss brother.

I just recently lost my father under similar circumstances. He was also a major dolphins fan and watching the games together will always be some of my favorite memories. It's great you got to share that with him before he passed.

Special time with your grandfather. Nice to know the Dolphins made him happy before he passed away. May he rest in peace. Sorry for your loss.

Not inappropriate at all brother. Sorry for your lose . Your grand dad sounds like a great guy who i'm sure will be missed.

He was the best. I'm really glad he went out with us winning. The internet was a foreign entity to him but we had conversations that mimicked all the threads here. I know he was bummed that we never shared a super bowl together, and was often pissed that we couldn't get it right. He would have fit in well around here.

Condolences to you and your family. It's a tough thing to go thru, I know!
Yeah it'll be really tough. My grandpa was disabled and my dad refused to let him be in a home so he lived with us. I got to grow up with him and forge a special bond that I'll cherish for life.

Sorry to hear about your loss. The dolphins and marlins are about the only good memories I have of my dad which is so why I'm such a huge fan. Glad he was able to go out on a high note and glad you got to spend some of this last precious moments with him.

My prayers go to you and your family. I lost my dad 11 yearz ago and it's hard. He was the one who taught me about football. Sorry for your loss

True that. I lost my oldest sister last week. The bad thing about living so long is you witness to many friends and family pass on. Life is a flick of a switch and should be cherished, every minute of it.

bryan324 my condolence to you and your family. It has touched my heart.
