guys, look what speed did to our Defense this year. we went from 15th to 5th in the NFL. Tackling and speedy guys in the DB did all this. Imagine what our offense wiht SPeed can do. booker has got to go. he runs slower then grandmas in this world. put in a burner that is GOOD not just a burner like campbell last year although he didnt make it but a good burner. thats waht we need. some speed on the O LINE and FB possibly.

Well from the people I Saban brought in I figured you were going with that road grading style of blocking. Now if you want a zone type of blocking you will need more athletic offensive lineman

I'm not really sure that we dont have speed on this team. I think we have been hindered by horrible offensive schemes. I think the routes that our recievers have been running are just posession routes. Now that we are going to have more of an agressive style of offense I think we are going to see new things out of our players.

As far as the O-Line I'm not looking forward to having to rebuild the whole line again. At least were not in as bad of cap trouble that have been in before, but its still going to be hard to build a good O-Line in one season.

I would love to see this team turn around quickly though like the team I'm watching right now. The Saints. They all learned the offense very quickly and they look pretty good.

How much faster did we really get on defense this year? We had the same D-Line, same LB core. Allen and Bell ya, but the rest of the D was the same. And ya lets get rid of our most productive WR last year because he cant run a 4.4.

And why on earth do we need our O-Line to be fast? Quick maybe but i dont care if the linemen runs slow or not if he can block.

Eagles | Team unlikely to re-sign Stallworth before free agency starts

Reuben Frank, of PhillyBurbs.com, reports <A href="http://www.kffl.com/team/29/nfl">Philadelphia Eagles general manager Tom Heckert said the team is unlikely to re-sign WR Donte' Stallworth before free agency starts. Heckert said, "If he's healthy, he's a really good player. I think that will be kind of a wait-and-see deal because I don't think even he knows what he's worth. Getting him done before free agency, that's probably not going to happen. There's not a whole lot of wide receivers out there. It's tough to gauge. When he's healthy, he's a good player. People are going to say the same thing  if he's injured (often), how much are you going to pay him? But he's young and he's fast. He's really fast. I think he'll probably end up signing a pretty good contract somewhere. If you look at last year, those (2006 free agents) got huge money and they were just OK guys."

Ted Ginn Jr. would make us so much better and give us the speed you talk about. We might even be able to trade back a few spots and get him. Not only would he stretch defenses for us which would help Ronnie, he would also take attention away from Chambers. Not to mention he would give us a return game like the Bears have. He would be such a special player for us I hope that we draft him so bad his speed is amazing!!

Trading down would not be wise if we want Ginn Jr. Atlanta's main need was WR last year. If we trade down...they will snatch Ginn Jr up in a heart beat.

So if we want Ginn...use the #9 pick on him.

But I'd rather sign Stalworth and use the #9 pick on Reggie Nelson!

Its no doubt that Booker is a goner. We drafted Hagan last season to be his replacement. Hagan did not impress. So look for MIA to replace Booker with either Stalworth, Curtis, Porter, or Ginn Jr. :cooldude:

Nah, this is not true. We have not ran possession routes. Linehan was a deep route guy and Mularkey ran Linehan's system.

Harrington wasnt able to through an accurate deep ball so he stayed in and threw short passes to Welker and Booker all season.

Chambers is our only speedy receiver. We need Stalworth or Ginn Jr to help him out though.

Please no on Stallworth. Unless you get him for pennies on the dollar he is NOT worth the money. Yes we he's on the field he is good, but its hard to name a WR who's missed more time injured in the last 3 years than Stallworth. I seriously think we can get a very good WR in the 2nd round this year (unless Johnson falls by miracle). We have a lot of needs so I think we take BPA at number 9 which may not be WR.

WR Prospects:
Calvin Johnson, Georgia Tech, Jr.
Dwayne Jarrett, USC, Jr.
Ted Ginn Jr, Ohio St, Jr.
Robert Meachem, Tennessee, Jr.
Sidney Rice, South Carolina
Dwayne Bowe, LSU
Steve Smith, USC
Rhema McKnight, Notre Dame

Not to be a downer here but Stallworth has a history of hammy issues and inconsistency with catching the ball. He does have a lot of speed though. Used purely as a deep threat receiver then fine. But he is no number 1 or even a 2 IMHO. It will be hard to get him as a #3 receiver because he most certainly will be asking for number 1 or number 2 wr type money.

these are the wrs i wish we could get.
dewayne jarrett, robert meechem and my main man d'juan woods for the #4 spot so this is how i think it ought to be.
#1 wr dewayn jarrett
#2 wr robert meechem
#3 wr wess welker
#4 wr djuan woods
trade hagan and chambers to philly for dt jouque thomas and then we will be in good shape.

yeah,,okay sure man,,

We cannot get rid of Booker, it'd be more logical to get rid of Welker because it won't bring any dead cap weight on us. Booker is a good WR, he should be running the short slant routes and what not, we should draft Ted Ginn Jr, put him opposite to Booker, then slide Chambers in the slot. I don't really see why we need speed for offensive line, they should be agile, not so much fast.

meachman and bowe sound like good 2nd round porspects if they last.
