A source confirmed today that the Dolphins are using one of their 30 permitted non-local visits on LSU receiver Odell Beckham, who many analysts believe could be selected in the top 20.

Beckham told Sirius Satellite Radio today that he plans to meet with Miami, and a league source confirmed he's visiting Davie this coming week.

That means the Dolphins are using at least three (and possibly more) of their maximum 30 permitted visits on high-end receivers. USC’s Marqise Lee, projected to go in Miami’s range, visited this past week. Mississippi’s Donte Moncrief, a potential second-rounder, also has booked a visit.

And Miami also has been linked to two other receivers expected to go in the late teens or early 20s: Oregon State’s Brandin Cooks and FSU’s Kelvin Benjamin.

Mel Kiper projects him to go 15th in his latest mock draft, four spots before Miami picks. “He can run by defenders and does a great job of creating space underneath,” Kiper said.

He displays "remarkable vision, agility and acceleration," according to NFLDraftScout.com analyst Rob Rang.

Im a Marquis lee guy myself, but a lot ofmpeople seem to be super high on becham.

To me drafting a WR in the 1st rnd makes to much sense, we can draft and reach for maybe the 4th or 5h best tackle in the 1st rnd, or we can draft a top 3 wr out of a group of wrs that's pretty damn good.

Easy choice for me.

If I'm drafting a WR at 19, it's Wakins or Lee. Watkins won't be there, and Lee might or might not be there. Beyond that, if I'm hellbent on getting a WR, I like the value better at 50.

I'd look at Lee, Beckham or Brandin Cooks, who will be lightning in the slot, good balance to Wallace, Hartline and Matthews. I still think that it'll be OL/WR in rds 1-2, the question is do we take an OL or WR at #19. 2nd rd WR options Jordan Matthews, Donte Moncrief, Allen Robinson and Martavis Bryant. Personally, I'd be happy with Lewan, Martin, Kouandjio in the 1st or one of the WRs Lee, Bekham or Cooks. I think that we're set up for a good draft.

On a side note, that Kouandjio article from Andrew Abramson is probably smoke, but the fact that he wrote the piece doesn't sit well with me. With some things, when the home team is what you're writing about, it's better to keep your pie hole shut. Abramson didn't, and I hope that the Fins send him packing from the press room, if they can do that without crating a major fuss.

What good is a receiver if Buffalo and NYJ's are running the ball down the middle of our defense. Our run defense is horrible on first down and in 3rd/4th and short.
Apart from oline, Wheeler and ellerbee are the teams biggest weakness and do not earn their money.
I hope we draft Mosely or Shazier at 19 or trade down a few spots and still grab Shazier.

If we have a 21 point lead they can go ahead and run it all day long...

The OLB solution is staring us right in the face, Dion Jordan, and I think that we could get a good MLB later in the draft. I'm still curious as to having Misi move to MLB.

It's a great point. I see Shazier as the defensive equivalent to Cooks on offense. They both have a chance to be real difference makers. I love Mosley as well. I think after those two finding a 3-down starter at linebacker in this draft is difficult (maybe Borland, but I think he's a little limited in coverage). So it certainly would make a lot of sense to go linebacker in the 1st if those guys are on the board.

If Miami goes LB in the 1st, I think they almost have to go offensive line in R2 but there again I'd love a player like Jordan Matthews as the Jordy Nelson for this offense.

i'm starting to think that this high pick wr interest is more smokescreen than legit given how much time we are spending in the position prospect wise...

The Jets draft right before us at #18, and being that they are scouting WRs hard, it may be a smokescreen. I think we will draft one at some point though, maybe not in the first 2 rounds.

I would definitely have Beckham in the mix for my pick at 19. He's the second best receiver in the draft if you were fielding a team tomorrow.

I also doubt its a smokescreen. The guys we've been linked to range from pick 19 to our third rounder, so what exactly are we trying to tell the other teams? Genuine interest IMO.

If Mosley's there I'm taking him, i think the misi to ilb is a smokescreen and CJ will provide us an instant playmaker at that position as a leader, versatility within our schemes, and intangibles that are higher than Misi's. Allen Robinson in the second wouldn't be that bad of a consolation.

Maybe. Would love to trade to the end of the first or even the top of the second and pick up a few extra picks.

I have him in the 20s, but he's a great fit. I wouldn't be dancing in the street, but I'd understand both why they like him and the scheme fit. Solid value.

I hope we're not elevating his value because he can return punts/kicks. He's good enough to see the field early as a WR, and he's not Cordarrelle Patterson. If you're set on a 1st RD WR, and you feel you need to upgrade Thigpen, draft the best WR on your board at 19 (if Lee is off the board, Beckham might be the next best scheme fit - outside of Watkins), and draft Dri Archer later. I'd be fine with any of the realistic WR options at 19 - Lee, Beckham Jr, Cooks, Moncrief (might be able to get him in the 2nd) - with the exception of Kelvin Benjamin. I wouldn't draft him in the first two rounds. Of that group, I do prefer Lee, but I think there's a good chance he'll be off the board.
