Kiss of death, hello 8-8...
We were predicted to be a Super Bowl contender for 2006. I think that’s been the highest prediction we’ve had in the 2000’s. Not that these predictions matter at all.
Who cares what the press has to say... about ANYTHING?
I stopped betting on sports when i was a teenager.
I would bet money that they win at least 5 games.
But, that said...
There is no reason for ANYONE who is not a Dolphin fan or related to any Dolphins players or coaches to expect wins.
They have a rookie head coach and have not been in the playoffs since the 2008 season.
My take on this in entirely pragmatic... I think it's "good" the expectations are so low for
this team for several reasons -- starting with the fact we have a "rookie" coaching staff that is
NOT being held to lofty expectations (due to the perceived lack of talent on the roster).
In addition, we have a significant number of "unproven's" on our roster that make the
perceived "hole" larger than reality (because some of these dudes are destined to prove
they belong in the NFL).
Beyond that -- all that really matters is (a) Rosen and (b) if this coaching staff (specifically Fores)
is THE ANSWER -- and if both of those questions get affirmative answers we're into an entirely
different territory.
IMO anyone hangin' 'round this board this time of year pretty much KNOWS what it takes to
succeed in the NFL. Coaching + QB + FO = WINNER! (or loser).
For now, the only legit choice as a "fan" is to be optimistic we have addressed that equation
and have the pieces of the puzzle (at least 67%) in place to formulate a NEW era for this team...
Bottom line -- IF ??? the staff and FO are ready for prime time -- we WILL solve the remaining
questions (and let's hope Rosen is the solution).
If 67% of the that is not true...
Whatever.
BNF
Well, talking without intent is just rambling or jibberish.Given that we're intentionally talking, that isn't too difficult to predict.
There's nothing in that argument that suggests that the Fins are in better shape coaching wise, unless you really put alot of weight into "the bar is exeedingly low"... The Fins roster as is, regardless of coaching, is not well suited to pass the ball efficiently and sure as hell aint gonna scare any opposing OC when it comes to stoping them from from passing efficiently.
So in reality, no matter how low you think the bar was with the previous coaching staff, it really doesnt matter at this point... If you want wins, you'll need a great coaching staff, not one that merely surpasses the previous one... Considering they're all rookies in their current positions, you really have nothing to stand on.
