It's obvious that this is what the plan was.

There were plenty of articles about it after he was drafted. The NFL is going to spread offenses more and more. And who better to run it then a QB like White who can run when defenses are spread out. And is a very intelligent QB who can make instant reads on when to pass and when to run.

The Dolphins will be running a Wildcat/Spread with Pat White. It's been clear for awhile that they will be incorporating the spread element into the Wildcat.

Well it should.

The Dolphins front office and coaching staff are a very innovative bunch.. On both sides of the ball.

watch back the game against the seahawks where ricky made a 60 yard touchdown...

that's exactly what pat will run.

He'll be in the gun with ricky and ronnie besides him, and they'll run some option and some triple option plays (not to mention the passing plays...)

i'm very, very, VERY, anxious to see this formation, everyone knows it's coming

I wonder if we'll do whole serieseseseses with White at QB or whether it will be a play here and there. Usually when we went into Wildcat it would be for at least 2-3 plays in a row.

I think it will be more spread and less option. The idea is to "spread" out the defense and create more open field for White to do his thing. I don't anticipate seeing much option outside of the wildcat-esque single wing stuff.

It's been very subtle, and didn't even include White, but we did run a couple 5 wide sets, and IMO the muffed hand off where the WR was is the backfield are all being tested with the idea of letting White run them.

This is the formation you're gonna see Pat in IMO, I think the wildcat with the unbalenced line and ricky in motion remains Ronnie's boat to ride only difference is your gonna have Pat white as the wide out instead of CP.

I would like to see White join the huddle mid-drive to replace CP, and see him run a few plays in a row in an hurry up offense mixing regular/wildcat/spread plays. Tlak about catching a defense off-guard...

I dont see a big advantage to using White as wideout in the wildcat. Still nobody to get him the ball downfield and to use him on a pass you have to do a reverse type play which will take a bit of time.

I agree. imo, the whole reason they drafted him was to pass the ball in the spread formation. that's why I don't see him in motion either. he needs to get the ball in the shotgun with everybody spread out so he can do what he does best.

I disagree, I think there's a big athletic difference between Pat White and Chad Pennington.
