Who would you give the nod to?
*Fitzpatrick-gives us the best opportunity to win games. His Harvard brain will pick up the offense quick. He has a big arm. He's a gunslinger and throws it all over the place. He will make mistakes and throw picks but he will throw a lot of TD's as well.
*Rosen-we just gave up a 2nd and a 5th for him. We need to find out if he is "the guy" this season. We need to know if we need to look at QB next season in the draft or not. This was posted in another thread
"· Start Rosen, be bad, draft high in each round with their bounty of picks assembled through deft trades, nab the quarterback of the future in the first round of 2020.
· Start Rosen, be mediocre, draft in the middle of each round with their bounty, then couple some of those picks to move up and draft the quarterback of the future where you need to in the first round.
· Start Rosen, find out he’s actually the franchise quarterback whether you’re bad or mediocre, use your picks to continue surrounding him with talent and ride with him through the next two years of his rookie deal plus the fifth-year option."
*Falk-the only way I see this happening is if there is a true QB competition in camp and he wins it out.

I mean I honestly believe this won’t be that close . . . .Rosen is your day 1 starter.

Fitz is making $5.5 million this year . . . .he is getting great coin to be a leader and do whatever Miami needs him to do to enhance their QB depth chart.

Miami needs to know what they have in Josh and they aren’t gonna find that out by having him on the bench eating another year of cheap salary.

You have to start Rosen to see what you have in him and if he stinks and the team stinks you draft a QB in the 1st round next year.

Not even a discussion. It’s Rosen. Potential franchise QB and we need to know. Fitz is the backup. Watched Rosen play in college, he can sling it with the best of em. Don’t blame him for being drafted by a terrible coaching staff who only lasted one year and an OL that was worse than Miami’s. Let’s hope his college game continues in the NFL. This was a great second round pick

I'll be odd man out - Fitzpatrick for game 1. Defer to the vet. First excuse Flores gets . . . Rosen

I need to see what Rosen can do. Fitzpatrick gets us nowhere if we're all about the future.

Would be disappointing but not impossible to see happening.

Probably would mean the offense and team responds much more to the veteran in camp.

Lol. It’s not close. Fitzpatrick is the clear starter. Rosen might start at the end of the year if they are out of the playoffs.

If we don't start Rosen, it was an asenine move.

What sense would it make to pick up Rosen, if you don't intend to play him? It would be a complete waste of a 2nd rd pick.

Backup. And people actually improve during practice. He could sit for two years and take over after Fitzpatrick’s contract is up.

It’s silly to think that a player can’t be evaluated in practice.

Fitz until he gets hurt which will probably be around game 5...then its Rosen and whoever is behind him on the depth chart

A valid point, if this team weren't in a full blown rebuild, but we have too many holes to have that type of luxury, IMO.

That might be a "worst case" scenario, but probably not what the primary goal would be.
