Stay, go or restructure: TE Jordan Cameron
Experience: Five seasons
2015 stats: 35 receptions, 386 yards, three touchdowns
2016 salary/cap charge: $7.5 million/$9.5 million cap
Analysis: The Cameron experiment did not work for Miami. The Dolphins signed Cameron to a two-year contract last offseason in hopes that the former Pro Bowler would revert back to form. Cameron worked hard and stayed healthy. However, he never found his rhythm with quarterback Ryan Tannehill. Cameron’s best game was against the Washington Redskins in Week 1 when he recorded four catches for 73 yards -- both were season highs. Now Miami must decide if Cameron can have a much better 2016 in which his $7.5 million salary can match his production.

This is something I saw on ESPN, who is starting a series on players teams must make decisions on. Should make for some good forum topics.

Didn't he spend half the season having to block to help the ****ty OL? Fix the OL so he can run free and he'd produce.

Best bet is to allow Gase and his staff to look at his skill set, how was and wasn't used properly last season compared to his time with the Browns and then go from there. If they feel he can fit/add to offense, then you restructure his contract so we don't take such a high cap hit by extending him. Also have to look at the upcoming TEs that will hit the market.. we're looking at names like Coby Fleener, Dwayne Allen, Jermaine Gresham, etc.. Then some older names such as Mercedes Lewis.

I wouldnt be against either or. 7 million for a TE who made 34 catches, dropped some easy passes, and cant block at all? No thanks. Tell him to take a paycut or leave. Same with Pouncey and Grimes, paycut or leave.

This is easy, you do your best to restructure him.

This offense has loads of potential and Marty B had a really great year last season with Gase at the helm. He has a history of getting great production out of quality TE's and JC has the ability to be a top TE in the league.

Obviously that current number is too high, and I am sure when the contract was made, this was well known . . . and would only be honored if he completely tore it up.

Another player that had his season derailed by the incompetent coaching staff. Cameron did drop a few key passes but I was watching some highlight clips and did have some big time plays. I definitely want to give him another year.

Go for the restructure and give Gase a chance to scheme for him.

He's a talent and would be great in a system that utilized him properly, I would definitely approach him with the idea of restructuring and play up Gase's use of TE in his career.

Restructure

We have to keep our TE's because we just don't have the room to afford draft picks on them and the FA market for them isn't ripe for the picking (also our cap $$$ is an issue there).

Here is who is out there at TE:

Antonio Gates
Ladarius Green
Dwayne Allen
Vernon Davis
Coby Fleener
Ben Watson
Zach Miller
Marcedes Lewis
Craig Stevens
Clay Harbor
Jermaine Gresham
James Hanna
Logan Paulsen
Daniel Fells
Garrett Celek
Tony Moeaki
Rhett Ellison
Michael Hoomanawanui
Rob Housler
David Johnson
Kellen Davis
Anthony McCoy
John Phillips
Chase Coffman
Dorin Dickerson

Of those only Miller, Green and Gates are top level and none will be available for us. The others are middle tier or worse. Cameron, if used properly, is better than most of them. Just not at his current contract. Restructure and let Gase use him in the correct way to maximize his threat.
