Steelers safety Tyrone Carter remembers Daunte Culpepper as a spirited leader when the two were teammates with the Minnesota Vikings.

"I tell all my guys back here, 'Don't underestimate him,' " Carter said. "He was hurt last year, but he's a great quarterback."

Carter has been telling his teammates one other thing about Culpepper, who will make his first start for the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night at Heinz Field: He'll give both teams a chance to make plays.

Culpepper, 29, has 86 interceptions in 80 career starts, including 12 in seven starts last season. "He forces a lot," Carter said. "He'll throw some picks here and there. If we're in position, he'll throw it. He trusts his arm that he can get it in there. At the same time, he is a great quarterback."

He sure was in 2003 and 2004, when he threw for 8,196 yards, 64 touchdowns and only 22 interceptions. In 2004, Culpepper set an NFL record for most yards combined passing and rushing, with 5,123.

I'd much rather hear that than, "OMG how did we lose to Charlie Batch?"

and thats when you come back with the "this makes up for when you beat us in 2004 when our players were forced to play in a Hurricane with their families on their minds...not to mention without our Starting RB who left us just 2 months before"

I live in the middle of Steelers nation...we better win
