The emergence of Anthony Steen as a reliable backup behind Pouncey is a welcome surprise. Given Pouncey's injury history, a reliable backup is imperative, but I wonder why the coaching staff decided to move Steen to C so early and not keep him in the mix to start at RG? Maybe it's just a pure numbers game and they felt he and Douglas (since put on practice squad) were the most flexible to the C position.
Given Steen's play, I wonder if Tannenbaum and Grier are second guessing the Pouncey extension? Pouncey has elite talent, but he's prone to boneheaded whiffs every now and then, and his injury history (chronic hip problems) has to be a little worrisome.
