Stephen Ross Press Conference

His justification of Chris Grier kills me.

Well he's saying that he likes the nucleus of the team that's been put together and the cap situation. If any of us are being objective here then i think we'd all say we agree with him.

The question becomes in an either/or scenerio

Has the talent acquisition primary job of the GM been worst OR the coaching of the team job of the HC been worst?

Whoever decided on the rookie OL coach deserves the most blame - which would be Flores. The way the OL regressed last season would be primarily because of the joke of an OL coach. For Flores to hire that guy to lead his OL was a very very very bad/inept type of move you cant have from your HC.

That's my point and i agree with you. Grier has his faults, Clearly! But there are few that would argue between last season and especially this season the team had more than enough talent to make the playoffs and realistically a genuine chance at the Division.

We went 1-7 to start the season and won a bunch( NFL record-wise) games which further suggests the talent was in place, but not being properly managed!

That falls squarely on the HC and the decisions made and not made.

This is all speculation on my part of course, but it has been noted that Flores was wanting even more power within the organization. What's to say that Grier pretty much told him you're going to have to get better coaches under you and Flores pretty much balked at it? Would that change anybody's opinion that wanted to retain Flores?

Could you point out where it was noted Flores wanted more power and why? I haven't seen that

It would me, the biggest issues were the coaches, and their lack experience, if Flores was hard headed enough to continue with something that was hurting the team, then maybe he had to be let go.

Still a good coach in his own right, but if he's not open minded enough when something fails to work...Maybe Coordinator or a position coach for his is better then HC.

We just fired who is now the best available free agent coach in the NFL. The executive team of the Miami Dolphins is a hot dumpster. Ross please sell your team, be a hero and self sacrifice!
