Stephen Ross:
Thanks everyone for coming today and says he didn't wait to rush to judgement and waited for facts to come in.
Cares about the organization and calls the situation a nightmare.
Says he cares about the organization and Jonathan Martin number one.
Has reached out to Martin and communicated with him by text and plans to meet with Martin soon.
Says after news of Martin incident occurred he reached out to NFL and asked them to do an investigation to find answers.
Wants to get to the bottom of this and find out all the real facts of this situation.
Philbin is a caring and respectful person, one of the best in the NFL in this regard.
Says after the investigation is finished, changes will be made.
Won't make any excuses and wants this to be the best work place going forward.
No one has really spoken to Jonathan Martin since he left.
Philbin wanted to be on Hard Knocks in his first year because he wanted people to know what we stood for.
Joe Philbin called Ross right after Martin left and told him what happened.
Has formed a five person committee, will form a code of conduct for the 21-st century.
When you can't pick up paper, watch TV without hearing about this. When things like than happen you know change is needed.
We're going to make sure we're the best organization in the NFL.
Members of the committee are Dan Marino, Tony Dungy, Don Shula, Jason Taylor, and Curtis Martin.
These are people who have as much respect as anybody.
I have total, utmost confidence in Joe Philbin as our coach.
I look forward to meeting with Jonathan Martin, discovering the facts.
I am committed to winning championships in Miami and making us the best franchise we can possibly be.
I apologize to the fans for being in this position, but I know we will come out of this in a better position.
Ross will be meeting with Martin on Wednesday and will not disclose where the meeting is.
I'd like to hear from Jonathan Martin what happened, why he felt that way, what we did and what we could have done.
I never heard about bullying, coach never heard it. Nobody heard it.
We're looking at everything right now, have total confidence in my staff.
On Hazing: It's where you draw the line. The world has changed. There will be no racial slurs or harassing or bullying in that locker room.
On Personnel changes: We're looking at everything right now, I have total confidence in my staff.
In every locker room and in every work place, every voice needs to be heard.
We have to go further because clearly there was a voice that wasn't being heard.
Referring to independent investigation: We will live with it. If we need to make changes we'll make changes.
I was appealed. When you first read text I didn't realize that people would speak that way.
So many things are being said. I'm not going to deal with speculation. So much being said, he said she said.
Ross on Incognito: I want to hear all the facts.
I feel I have total control (of organization).
Everybody in the organization cares.
We want to get this resolved. We want to put this behind us. We want to do the right thing.
Tom Garfinkel:
We want to earn the support of our fans and the trust and respect of our peers not just by what we do but how we do it.
How we respond to this situation is a way for us to learn a lot about ourselves.
We need to not rush to judgement before we have all the facts. We simply don't know what happened or didn't happen yet.
I do know Stephen Ross is passionate about building a best in class organization.
We want to know the truth. Everyone in our organization has been told to cooperate fully with investigation.
When we do know the facts, we will act accordingly.
We do know as an organization, we can always improve.
We're committed to learning the facts and discovering the truth, whatever that result may be. I'm confident we'll come out better.
Says another committee composed of Ross, Garfinkel, Philbin, Aponte, and Ireland will make sure standards are being enforced.
Steve's been on the phone with us every day for the last week and a half or so...He's in constant communication.
