I feel that mueller has a plan to aquire a qb and it seems based on todays news of houston droping back in the draft that mueller is close to doing this.

IMO once mueller was able to trade welker to NE for that #2 &#7 he had what he needed ammunition to make a deal.

As for why does today mean anything let me explain..houston wanted a different QB other then carr some would say they too wanted Quinn, but it seems they gave up on that why? because IMO they tried trading Carr to the teams with QB issues(det...clvlnd...minny...miami and maybe oak)
all the teams rejected them for thier own reasons ..Det= they have a trade in place they like better(with miami) clvlnd=they want peterson minny=cant get the player at 7 let alone at 8 they want(quinn) all these teams in one way or another have some idea what the others are doing.

Now the news miami is close to a trade for green tells me they also have deal in place to move up as high as need be(#2 det) to get Quinn.
If a team was looking to add vetern help at qb they could sign some vets that are on the street(a.brooks=mueller traded for him at NO) drew Bledsoe is on the FA market however mueller wants to give up a draft pick for a player thats old with some health issues why? because he best fits the need he can mold the new qb.

Mueller will trade that #7 and get Green then turn around and send #1(9) #2(40) and most likely #3 to detroit and draft B.Quinn

He is the first stepping stone in building a winner!

Heck no!!!

Is this cat really saying for us to trade our 1st, our high 2 and our 3 . . . for Quinn?

I honestly would rather keep all our picks, suck again next year and draft Brohm or Henne while still having all the young talent from this years draft. I would be REAL upset, if we used 3 first day picks to acquire Brady Quinn. If he is there at 9 is the only way I see Miami taking him, tho I still hope they try and trade down. The only player that merits a trade up in this draft is Calvin Johnson, and I still would be on the fence with giving up that many picks.

Good thing that Cam and Muller are making the deals and not some of the people on this board.......I'd go insane if we trade away our top 3 picks for Quinn.....I'd take him at 9 if he falls but I'd not give up 3 top picks for him....I don't wanna put all the eggs on one besket...look what happened with Ricky....sure he had a great year for us but then what? We gave away a lot for one guy and he let us down....we need to keep our picks and let the draft come to us.

Ozzy rules!!

I would only trade up for Quinn if he fell to say #6 with Washington so we don't have to give up that much and if Brad Childress continues to drool over Quinn.

i think that sound really good. its exactly what i want except.... i would try and give them the late round 2nd instead of the early round one and i would take calvin johnsoni instead. getting johnson would help culpeppers passing game too and might even bring him back to his days with moss (since he will have a great WR to throw to).you cant pass on him and then in the late second you could take staton or even troy smith, which is being way underrated. just think smith has an arm and is mobile. he is a little short but he still is around six foot and and is the same height as drew brees. cam cameron helped brees in san diego overcome his height problem and look at him now, one of the best, so why cant he do it with smith. then we couold go after o-line and CB. we might be able to bring back sammy knight, who just was released from K.C. today, to miami and he would help our coverage on D.

I agree that the only way a trade up becomes "affordable" is if a guy slips some. Quinn might, Johnson almost certainly won't. If Johnson, Thomas, or Quinn was there at #4 it would cost you a #1(9), #2(40) and you'd technically been overpaying by 50 points (according to the draft chart.) But my suspicion is that with the competition from other teams, you would have to sweeten the deal even further... with a pick the following year or a player this year. It's a lot to think about. All the toys look good under the tree.
