Steve Smith?

We don't even have a QB. Smith would not want to come here nor should we bring him in unless we have someone to get him the ball.

Let's all remember that we have a QB competition in camp that neither QB is winning.
 
Offer our 2nd from wash for smith... a 3rd-4th for favre.... Let favre commit to playing two more years, groom henne in the proccess. Smith will mentor our young recievers... and boom r offense is 100% better... damn i wish it was that easy
 
We have the money to spend and Smith has worked with Dan Henning before. I wouldn't be opposed to bringing him in at all. I'm just wondering what we would have to give up to get him.
 
I suspect it would take Ginn+2nd (or more) to get Smith. Would he beat the crap out of the QBs for sucking?
 
I would love to see us give up our 2nd from Washington for Smith. (When healthy) He is easily a top 3 receiver. As ROTH's RAGE stated, he is a big mouth, but I really believe that our offense needs a someone with a little fire. Ronnie and RIcky are our playmakers, but neither one is vocal.

I say bring in SMITH!!!!!
 
Thankfully our FO will take a pass and continue to draft and sign FA to bolster this team for years to come.

By the way if you'd do a certain deal " in a minute " why would the trading team do it? Moss has been one of the few real steal deals besides the M.Faulk deal, Smith is a great WR that will not be given away no matter who he punches out.
 
The mantra with Sparano and Parcells is that they want to build this team for the future, not for the today, through drafting youth. Once the foundation is built, they can pick up free agents that will put us over the edge, not build us to mediocraty. Look at what the past years we have been able to build through free agency by giving up draft players, you get an expensive roster pushing the cap and are pushing their last few years here with big contracts. We need to have the bulk of the money to be used for good solid players and elite money for elite free agents. We have what we have and we need to be patient and see how this team develops through the season, no day by day scrimmages. That is like watching the stock market go up and down on an hourly basis.

Agreed that we dont have a qb right now, but in all honestly steve smith is a guy that whowever we did have at qb would instantly become 10 x's better for having smith. How many times have you seen him take a screen play or a 5 yd. for a 60 yd pass play i know i saw him do it a few times when he played the fins a few years ago(he was unstoppable). I dont think we will get him b/c i dont think carolina will let him go but if hes available theres no reason not to want smith.
