Now Spurrier being linked to Bama

On Monday, another rumor began making the rounds. This time, Steve Spurrier is said to be taking over the job at Alabama. Like Miami, Alabama currently has a head coach, Mike Shula. However, Shula is not likely to be fired, since he just signed an extension last year. After practice, all Spurrier could do was laugh about the rumors. "Miami yesterday, Alabama today. It's always flattering that somebody would throw the South Carolina coach's name out there. Obviously, I'm very, very happy here, and we're going to try to win us an SEC [Championship]. That's the goal. That's my mission."

If Spurrier leaves SC to go to UM I understand that but if he leaves one SEC school for another I don't understand that. Why would be leave a program where he's done 2 years of recruiting to go to another program in his conference where he'd have to start all over and would basically be playing the same teams. I know Bama has the history but I thought Spurrier came to SC to make them have their own new history!

When Spurrier was at UF, he was always lobbying for the UM/UF rivalry to resume. I'm sure he would do the same in Miami. I miss those games every year.:(

There are so many hypothetical coaches-go-bye-bye at the moment, it's hard to keep up. I wonder if Spurrier will be the next head coach of USC if they lose to ND.
