We still have a chance to go after Steve Hutchinson:

"Transition players must be offered the average of the top 10 salaries at their position for the club to maintain rights of first refusal. There is no draft-pick compensation if a transition player ends up signing with another team."

But I think if Brees is truly available, We'll obviously go after him hard, along with LeCharles Bentley and most likely will either trad down for more picks, or hopefully a Stud (OK, potential Stud) DB will be around at 16.....
 
The transition tag allows the host team to have another team waste its time in conducting the negotiation forthem. No thanks - focus on Bentley.
 
if we give him the trasitional player pay, he gets more from living and working in florida then anywhere else. On top of the fact that he lives in key Largo... makes me beilieve are chances are slim but not Gone.

He & his family LOVE Seattle....unfortunatly, he's not going anywhere.
 
We have no chance at Signing Hutchinson, I mean we could but it would probably limit our options for the remainder of Free Agency.
 
I just read on the herald that we might not get either one of them cos they'd get too much money.I'm hoping for one of them but it may not happen guys.

Bottom Line is that we are NOT going to give that kind of money to a GUARD ....

A TACKLE maybe ... but certainly not a GUARD ...

BENTLEY will get a nice contract ... but shouldn't be anywhere near what HUTCH will get from SEA ....

Seeing as they all live in florida including steve and his wife, I'm sure they do love seatle but South Florida is where he lives

I can't make a new QB avatar untill we get a new QB then it will roll out I promise. I already have them made for a few draft options, brees, & culpepper:D
 
Seattle has to be planning to match any offer for Hutchinson. Otherwise, why would they transition tag him for $6,391,000 and risk not getting any compensation when they could have franchise tagged him for $6,983,000 and be guaranteed compensation. Don't see the logic in that at all.
