Still think Defense isn't the most important?

The Jets are in the 2nd round because of their defense and partially the run game. The Ravens are currently kicking the Patriots @ss why? Because of their dominating defense and run game. They are up 24-0 with like 12 passing yards and well over 100 rushing yards. Obviously they'll need to get the pass game going somewhat to win the game, but you get the point. The Cowboys also won with the run game and tough D last night.[In dominant fashion as well]

The Dolphins defense was lower ranked then their offense. Yes a #1WR will be nice and is on the Dolphins list, but there is no arguing that it is more important then a couple of good defensive players.

Dolphins offense put up 30+ points 4 times. 20+ points 7 times.[Without a #1WR and with more turnovers than in 08] That should be enough to make the playoffs. The Patriots have a #1WR in Moss, but now without Welker they look like crap because all they have is a #1WR and not much else. I'd take Camarillo, Bess, and Hartline over one Moss anyday.

Plus I'm confident we'll get one, it's just not as important as our defense.
 
The Jets, Ravens and us were built for this time of year. In bad weather you run the ball and play defense.

We bring our running backs back and improve our defense.

Our complete list of "leaders" in missed tackles are:

Crowder 10
Ayodele 10
Wilson 9
Smith 8
Davis 6

We need a big safety like Taylor Mays (6'3"-4", 225-235) with speed who can cover the big fast pass catching TEs we play against. We hope Chris Clemons comes into this own. And we look for linebackers, linebackers, linebackers.
 
Tom Brady sucks and Shaun Green is LT in his prime.
 
No one is saying we don't need defense or a run game. What we need is to be more vertical in our passing game. Trust me it will open up BIG lanes all over the field! Look how vertical Dallas is, it means the safeties are 15-22 yards off the line. When teams play us the safeties are 8-12 yards off the line. We need to back them up and our entire offense will be WAT more explosive.
 
I know, and I'd love to see someone like Boldin, but I dont want them to give high draft picks for a WR, which would happen for Marshall. I want to see that defense built up strong. I'm sick of the articles saying "Are the Dolphins building a team for 1990?" They know they need a #1WR, it's just not the most important.

I have faith in Parcells, Ireland, Sparano and I can't believe I've seen threads on here with people wanting them gone.
 
how about all those guys that parcells and ireland drafted that now are making the cowboys what they are?

Come On Man! Dallas has 5 new starters on defense this year, plus Roy Williams who had 5 catches for first downs in the first half yesterday, Felix Jones and Choice since Parcell's and company left.

I was one of the ones wanting the Boldin trade in a big way, especially when Arizona lowered their asking price to a second on draft day. Now wel he has had another injury plagued year so I can't see him more then a 3rd especially when you consider what he is going to want for an extension.

As far as Marshall, he is a BEAST and the real deal, a young stud everything we want. However Parcell's will NEVER give up a 1st round pick for him. Sadly I see him going to the Ratriots they have enough picks to make it happen, and well McDaniels is the WORLDS BIGGEST BELLICHEAT FLUFFER!

I think our WR upgrade will come via a vet that a team unloads a contract. Guys like Steve Smith, Santana Moss, Ocho Cinco, Probowl caliber vets that can come in and play at a high level for 2-3 years while we groom a draft pick.
 
It won't shock me if NYJ beats SD next week, Revis can blanket Jackson, there's no real run game and then you need to cover Gates.

Baltimore will have a tougher time because their CB's don't match up well against Indy, but if their defense plays like today then watch out.

Fix the defense, NT, FS, ILB, OLB and then worry about the offense.

And if anyone wants B.Edwards they should be shot, what an easy TD pass and it goes right through his hands....even Ginn would have made that catch, lol!!!!

Thegangreen.com was absolutely hilarious when he dropped that!!! If the Jets would have lost by less then a TD I think they would have rioted and burned Edwards house down.

I've known defense wins championships, it's never been the opposite in my eyes
 
Balance wins championships. Those late 90's/early 00's Dolphin top 5 defenses didnt win anything. As far back as i can remember, the only predominantly defensive teams to win titles were the 85 bears, 00 ravens, and 02 bucs.
